Myself and BF are in the pre-pre-preliminary planning stages for our second trip to WDW. We had been thinking of flying out on September 9, landing in Orlando around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. (thus making 9/9 a "lost" day). I've just learned that the Night of Joy is September 9 and 10 (so, shouldn't it really be "Nights of Joy"?).

We obviously won't be affected by it on 9/9 as we'll just check into our resort and get something to eat before crashing hard in our room, but I'm wondering about the 10th and thereafter. Does the NoJ bring in large crowds that stick around for days afterward? Is it primarily concentrated in one park? Should I just not worry about it and stick with my original dates? Can you tell I don't really know anything about the NoJ?

Thanks for any insight!

My experience with this event was as a youth group leader. We were only 2 hours aways... but went to the concerts Friday and the park on that Saturday... but after the Saturday night concerts, we were on the road and teaching Sunday School the next morning... while many of our students slept in. LOL

I was there last year and it wasn't crowded. Of course, last year was the bad hurricane year. I'm not sure if more people cancelled trips, making it less crowded, or if the fact that so many FL public schools were closed made it more crowded. I think we were at MGM on the Saturday of NoJ, so I don't know how MK was that day. The only time we had a long wait at MGM was when it rained and everyone wanted to ride the Great Movie Ride.

It was fun!

Bumping. I just bought tickets for the concerts, and I'm wondering how crowds are in the parks. :)
