I've been looking at videos on youtube, and I think I've scared myself too much.... seriously having second thoughts about going to this event.

It's proper, proper Horror :scared1:
Have you seen Bloody Mary, OMG :scared1: Definitely the kind of stuff to give me nightmares.

I know the whole point of it is to be scary, but it seems so over the top... too much blood and gore.

For those of you who have been, is it really that scary?

Bloody Mary is part of Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights, so I've moved this thread to the US/IOA board. :)

My DD17 is scared to death of the dark, some scary movies and people sneecking up on her.But after last yearsHHN this is all she talked about.

She is so addicted to it now,she will go every year now :thumbsup2

Yes its intense, and they are out to scare you,and they are good at it..

But there is no touching allowed by the scareactors..

Matter of fact, last year leatherface got me GOOOOOD.I almost hit him:lmao: :lmao:

Donn't talk yourself out of it.Its a must see,I promise:thumbsup2 Its something you will talk about all year long...

The only thing I got todo is watch Rocky Horror Picture Show all the way thru, cuase my DW loves it and I never understood it:thumbsup2

I just checked out some of the You Tube videos and the Universal site. No way in this lifetime would you get me there!!

I'm not even going to mention it to DH. He loves that kids of stuff. I am chicken, but I also do not like it when the get in your face and won't leave. Personal space people!!!!!

My DD 19 can't wait for this and there's no way I'll let her go there on her own... I know I'm going to end up going, but I'm really, really frightened. I can't watch Horror films, the sight of blood makes me faint and I won't be able to sleep. DH will be back in the UK, just me and DD on this holiday!

There is (what I call)kool down zones. If things get too intense for ya,go there and watch the other people get scared. Its pretty fun to watch.

Now come on peeps its only a show.Like I said donn't talk yourselves out of a great time!!!:thumbsup2

HAHA, I know! I got trapped by a mental patient in a Santa suit holding a chainsaw. He got me at the exit and wouldn't let me pass. I just kept screaming go away go away LOL. Eventually he backed off after he saw I wasn't going to try and run past him. After that little episode I started forming a conga line with my boyfriend and strangers just to make sure I wouldn't get left behind. :rotfl:

What you can do is post your trip date on the HHN date thread in this forum. Get to know some of the posters that might be attending HHN while you're there and see if they mind going with your daughter. This way you wouldn't need to go. You could hang out at Citywalk while waiting for your daughter.

My wife hates scary stuff too and I would never pressure her to go as I know she wouldn't enjoy it. So I've signed up for a RIP tour with some of the other posters here and I'm really looking forward to it.

My favorite moment last year was in Freddy's house. It was pitch black with strobes popping on to blind you. I was babbling, "Oh my God, oh my God," and suddenly there was Freddy right in my face bellowing, "God can't help you here!"

My DW got that one also--I was stuck in the congo line..She states that one almost scared her..

So I'm hoping this year Reflections Of Fear will get her..She is hard to scare..
I got a Idea, let her wear her Disney Shirt the night we go..This should get the scareactors attention:thumbsup2 Anything to get her scared, this would be the best and have a camera ready:cool1: I'm going too set her-up :thumbsup2

I've been scared S@$TLESS of Bloody Mary since I was a kid so I warned DH that I most likely will pee my pants!:confused3 To this day I can't walk into a darkened room and look in the mirror:scared1:

There is a haunted house at a pleasure resort near me who do this kind of thing (although i can imagine it is no-where near as good as HHN) The first time we went round Freddy Kruegers hand came at me from the side with his hand, and I turned round wondering who had taken a swipe at me ready to give them a slap :rotfl2:

As soon as i saw who it was and the fact that he was still trying to grab at us I quickly ran off screaming like a little girl

I'm dreading what these houses are going to be like (but in an excited way)

I've never experienced anything even remotely like this before!

The best we have in england (as far as I know) is crappy haunted houses at fairgrounds that you basically sit in a little car, it takes you around and mechanical props come out at you. It's basically for kids.

First time I went to DisneyLand Paris I was on the Haunted Mansion and it broke down, we were stuck in the dark for about 20 mins - I was so scared!

So I have no idea how I'm gonna cope at HHN - Cant wait though :rotfl2:

I'm sure I'd be scared half to death. I won't even look at the YouTube version. I'd never really head the story of Bloody Mary until last week. I did a Google search and got so creeped out I was afraid of my bathroom.

I may be too old for HHN anyhow. Is it mainly for teens and young adults?

You Brits are way too mild! When I lived in Chicago, they had haunted houses in almost every town. Some were just okay, while others would scare the bejeezus out of you. Having been born near Halloween, and coming from a family where my mother started dragging me to horror movies as a toddler, I have quite an affinity for scares. When I got married, I turned my husband into a haunted house lover too. They don't have as many in Chicago anymore, a fact about which my nieces (who we often took with us to the good ones) constantly complain. Thank goodness we live in Celebration now, nice and close to Universal where we can get our horror dose.

There is a new attraction, in England, thats a bit like a HHN House it's called 'The London Tombs' and it's situated beneath London Bridge. I went a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it :thumbsup2

Years ago (over 10) there was an attraction in the London Trocadero called 'Alien War'. Based on the Alien films you were led through dark corridors by US Colonial Marines whilst being attacked and chased by Aliens and Facehuggers, it was awsome!
