Night before Park Hopping

Ok so we are driving down and I am not sure what I want to do that first night. It will be Nov 29th and were looking for something that will fit a family of 4with two small boys. I thought about DTD or the resorts for the decorations. I want it to be fun and rewarding for being in the car most of the day. Ideas? Can we ride the Monorail?

Also can anyone recommend somewhere we can walk up and eat at that would be neat?

I would do resort hoping a visit all of the ones on the monorail first personally.
