As of today, I think DH and I will fly into Orlando, rent car, drive to Cape Canaveral, spend night at Radisson. etc, etc, etc.
Cruise date is 4/17/04. How booked up is the hotel the night before departures and do I need to book a room now?

We're newbies to cruising and as time gets closer, I'm sure we'll have lots more questions.

Thanks

Just in case you decide to stay in Orlando the night before and drive in the morning, I highly recommend Priceline. We typically get the MCO Marriott for between $25 and $28 (be sure to bid the highest star level). We don't like to bother with rental cars, so we take the hotel shuttle the night before and then have Happy Limo pick us up in the morning. Our flight usually arrives pretty late, so we don't feel like going all the way to the port.
I don't know if Priceline handles any of the port-area hotels, but if you are interested in that, info. is probably on www.biddingfortravel.com

I too would like to know the answer. We leave the next day.

For what it's worth..........

April 17, 2004 is the beginning of spring break for most of the public schools in Mass. and maybe a couple other Northeast states as well. Not that everyone here will be cruising, but I'm sure there will be quite a few (we have a cabin on deposit for that week as well as the Christmas cruise..... decisions, decisions). I don't think Radisson charges a deposit, so you could book it now at no cost. At least then you would have a better shot at selecting the room type you want. If you find someplace else, or a better price, you can always cancel.

We are on the cruise a week before you, and plan on doing to same thing as you. I just booked a night at the Radisson yesterday. I don't know if it was necessary to book so early, but at least I got what I wanted and don't have to worry!

Thanks for the replys. I know I could count on you for some good suggestions. I will probably go ahead and book the room for the night before and cancel if I need to! Don't want that boat leaving without me!

Outahere-- yes, you are correct. I should have thought of this. I am a teacher and live in Maine. Most schools in our area (ME/NH) have the third week of April off. It is summer break--I am allowed not to think!!

Thanks everyone for answering.

lsutigger2--thanks for asking the question. Also, lets all hope for great weather that week!!
