Nicknames - anyone got one???

My nickname ever since I was a baby was Tink. Not because of the cute little pixie. It was because it rhymed with stink. You get one dirty diaper and bam.....you got yourself a nickname. Most of the times Im called Tinker or Tinkie or Tinklelee. I just can't shake that nickname.

My brother's nickname for me is biotch. And mine for him is dumba**. Its done lovingly so its all good.

And the sweetpea's nickname is well....sweetpea. Ive called her that ever since she was born. She's my sweetpea and always will be.

And I call people sugarbooger as a sorta nickname. Not just one person, I give that one out a lot. I got a lot of sugarboogers hanging out there.

I taught 2 year olds in a preschool and for Sunday school for years, and boy, did I get a lot of nicknames from those kiddos! They just couldn't always remember my name or even figure out how to pronounce it, so I have been called:

Miss Beppy
Miss Nee Nee
Miss Bee Bee
Miss Bwefny
Miss teacher
Hey teacher lady
Hey Babysitter
Miss lady who isn't my mommy

Every semester my aid would pick the newest twist on my name and call me that for months, which would lead to the entire preschool calling me "Miss lady who isn't my mommy" or "Hey teacher lady" until the new semester would start. One time when I was grocery shopping, a 4 year old from the preschool saw me and called out "Mommy, there's Hey Babysitter! She's one of the teachers at my school!" :rotfl:

My mom had nicknames for each of us kids that she gave us when we were babies. I was "Pumpkin", DB was "Tiger", and DS was "Babe". She mistakenly called me Babe once when I was 9, and I had a fit!

I call DH "Grumpy Boy", "Eeyore", "Cranky pants", and (shhh...don't tell him I'm telling ya'll...) "Fuzzy Butt". We won't go into details on that last one... ;)

well in grade school i was called SAM because we had 3 stephanies in our class and SAM were my Initials

then had an ex that called me DImples

my DH use to call me princess but now i am just plan Babe... lol

OH yea i had an uncle (older uncle) that called me Darlene.... :confused3 he just could not remember stephanie i guess.. LOL

Also...growing up i was also called AIRHEAD...yes i am a blonde.
One time my Brother told me to go cut the grill off...i went out and looked... stupid me was trying to turn off a grill that did not even turn on.. LOL

I've had a lot of nicknames over the years, most of them being variations on my name (Kathrine)... Kat, Kate, Katy, Katrin, Katrina, Kitty, Cappy, Katharoo

I was dubbed Larry the Lobster thanks to my red hair.

My best friend and I were always called Ding and Dong. That one was all her fault... she's a blonde! I'm the smart one... no really!

I had a friend who called me Whitney Houston for a long time. I'm not sure why now, but I know it had nothing to do with my singing ability or my love of crack cocaine.

My favorite nickname ever is one that I gave to a friend of mine. We call her StickyButt after a waiter dropped a glass of coke down her back. We were eating in Morocco at Epcot at the time. For some reason the name just suits her.

My best friend calls me Julio Iglesias....
It's a long story.... :rotfl:

I have other nicknames but I can't post them on the DIS.

My name is Katrina and dad gave me the nickname of Kitty! That is what everyone calls me. I am hardly ever called by my real name. Mostly it is Mom is calls me Katrina! :goodvibes

My dad has always called me Tilly. NO idea where that came from. Dh's family calls him BD (his initials).

I totally forgot about my nickname growing up!

Lois Lane! Lane was my maiden name and my first name is Laura!

DH calls me little pumpkin or lil P
Story:
We were snowmobiling and I was riding behind him too close because he was going to slow...for me. Anyway, when we got at the end of the trail I was furious at him for going so slow and we both stopped and I got off of my sled and was freaking out..blah, blah, blah. DH gently took me and laid me down in a huge snow bank! When I got up my helmet left an imprint that looked like a little pumpkin..hence the name

His name is big pumpkin...because he's got a big ole pumpkin head!! :lmao:

My dad calls me Deepy b/c when I was a baby I'd fall into incredibly deep sleeps - sirens, thunder, NOTHING would wake me up (I still need the TV on for me to fall asleep quickly).

My DH is Alec, which is a nickname from him middle name, Alexander.

This thread is hilarious.

I have several nicknames

Pumpkin- my first nickname, from my Dear Dad
Cheryl'd- my oldest brother insists on adding the d to my name, I have no idea why
Jake-from a friend in high school
Frick-best friend from high school and I were inseparable, so one of our teachers took to calling us Frick and Frack.
Slim-from a friend in college that I called Slick
Babe or Baby-from DH
Smooch-developed from DH nickname. The tv show Beavis and Buttheard was popular at the time DH and I started dating. So, I took to calling him Butthead. Later that was shortened to Butt. I became Smooch. So DH and I are Smooch n Butt.

I have one other nickname that I share with my youngest brother. It is a little offensive. He is T**d, and I am T**dette.

I have always called my DD "Monkey". But I am the only one that is allowed to call her that. If anyone else calls her Monkey, she says "NO. I am Daddy's Monkey."

One day, she was walking by and she had a scrunchy (sp?) in her hair. I said to her "Hi scrunchy Monkey." And she says back to me "Hi scrunchy daddy." :rotfl2:

When people ask her what her name is, about half the time she will tell them Courtney......the other half she will tell them Monkey. :rotfl:

We called Hannah caca girl when she was an infant. I had never been around a breastfeeding baby before, and boy, there was a lot of that!

Denae

My mother's nickname for me is Tug, because I would tug at her leg all the time.

My niece is Heimer, and abbreviation of Poopinheimer. LOL

Another niece is Wheeze, because she had asthma.

Her sister is Beef, I forget why. LOL

My brother is Fin, or Finbar, patron saint of Cork, Ireland.

My mother calls my daughter, Sweet Potato.

My sisters nicknames are too weird for the DISboards LOL

Ursula aka Tug

I call DD "smoochie poooo" She was being all silly one day when she was 3 and wanted to be smoochied. So I was kissing her face and we came up with the silly name, When she was little I called her Bug-a-boo.

I am "Shower Buddy".

Well my real name is Rebecca but my family always called me Becky except for my Dad who still calls me Beckatron. When I met my DH he started calling me Becka. I liked it and he was the only one to call me that until my MIL heard him and now she calls me Becka too. :rolleyes2 I should have told her at the time that I preferred that my DH be the only one to call me that but I didn't so now I get to have my MIL use my nickname as well. :sad2:

When Nathan was real little he couldn't say his full name so he called himself Na-Na and we still call him that occassionally but mostly if I use a nickname for him I just call him monkey. ;)

DD's name is Allison but we call her Allie. Well my Dad started calling her Allie-gator and it stuck. In fact half the time now we just call our sweet baby girl Gator. :lmao: Her teachers at daycare also call her Allie-cat and Allie-saurus. :)

My first one came from my Daddy, he always calls me Punkin or Boo.
Some of my friends call me Roch, pronounced like scotch, because of my last name.
The most universal nickname I have is K-Train, one of my friend's boyfriends gave it to me and she started calling me that at work. My co-workers picked up on it, even though they have no idea how I got the name! :confused3 I dated a guy, and he wouldn't leave me alone, so my friend's boyfriend said, oh-so-casually, a lewd comment about not wanting to depart the K-Train, and it stuck. It tickles me to death that sweet old ladies at work call me this name given to me out of a sick comment!

My nickname is always sort of morphing... It started out my freshman year of college as Clomeyer (my name is Chloe, not really sure how that got changed to Clomeyer...) but then it got shortened to Clomo, which morphed into Clomer Fudd (which I hate) and DBF hears it from me when he uses that one, often these days it's Clomo Baggins, or just Clomo. A lot of people call me Clo but I don't really like them to unless they're close friends, dunno why, just personal preference.

DBF is Clayton, in college his friends changed that to Ton (because he despises the name Clay) but IMO Ton is a bad name so I changed that to Tron (which happens to be the coolest name ever, and his favorite movie). That gets switched to Tronbo sometimes which also switches to Tronbo Baggins.
