I was just looking at the website for the Nickelodeon Hotel and it looks really great and somewhere we'd really be interested in staying..... Then I read some not so great reviews on it about how crowded it is and all the issues that go along with big crowds (long lines, no parking, over crowded pools, etc.). We are going to Orlando in July, so I'm sure that's probably one of the most popular times.

I know my 5 yr old would love to stay there and seems like you can get a good deal if you look hard enough. Would love to hear from anyone who has stayed there and what you thought!

We have gone 3 times most recently in March. I never found anything to be that bad. I mean yes the pools are busy but not that you can not get in.
I never saw long lines. There was one day, the day before we were leaving that lots of cheerleaders came in. That night yes it was VERY busy in the mall area and stuff.
The kids have begged each time to go back to Nick hotel.
I think it is great and had so much for the kids to do we all had a great time.
We are already planning our next spring trip.

that is good to hear... I do think my son would LOVE to stay there!!

We were booked to say there for two nights as part of a 12 day vacation. The last 10 nights we were going to stay at Pop Century. We checked in about 8:00 at night and was given a room on the top level (3rd floor I believe). Hotel was a virtual ghost town. Got to the room and opened the door to the smell of mildew/mold like you get at some of the hotels/motels in beach towns. The theming in the room was disappointing and had just a painting of some nick characters on the wall. Maybe we were expecting a little more. Went down to get something to eat and the mall area was pretty much closed up except to get a couple of cereals and milk. We ended up keeping that room and woke up the next morning to go to the character breakfast. Diappointing as well. Not much of a selection and the character interaction was lame. Could be because there were only a total of about 15 people in the restaurant (including employees). Headed back to the room and got changed to go to the pool area/water slides. Only one of the two areas was opened and not xrowded at all. kids got slimed and they enjoyed that, but our decision was to leave the hotel a day early and check in to Pop one day earlier. Yes, the kids even wanted to leave as well and they are the biggest Nick fans you will find.

So this is what we did. This hotel just was not for us. We were there in late September so crowds were down. We dont expect much, but we really did not get much.

Hope you find a better result for your stay!!!

We stayed there for the first time this past weekend (5/30-5/31) and it was horribly crowded, it was FL Girl Scout weekend (which we were not told about when we made a reservation) and they were over booked and overwhelmed.

We were 3 families (13 people total) and we could only manage to secure 2 lounge chairs so we had to sit in shifts! All the shows were booked before we got there, but we did buy the 4-D movie bracelets for all the kids which were great.

Other than the crowds, the kids all had a great time, but the youngest is 7 and we basically gave them free-range of the property (with regular check-ins). If my kids were younger I would have been very unhappy because there was no way to watch them in those crowds.

Our room was fine-- a 2 bedroom suite with bunk beds and 3 tvs (1 flat screen) and sponge bob theme. I'd request a first floor, on the back of the hotel to avoid the pool noises.

I hate having to fight over lounge chairs, for anyone who has been there before, would you recommend bringing a beach chair just in case. Its no big deal to me to carry.

I still would say not to bring a chair. I would bring a beach towel from home and maybe go out early and just save a chair. Not if you will not be out there till late. But we would go save a chair then head to breakfast then pool. I say use your own towel since if you use theirs people will just move it thinking you may have left

I will probably just bring a small chair with me just in case. Last year when we went away on vacation i had reserved a table w/chairs right when the pool area opened had put towels down some magazines and random stuff i put on the table even though we wouldnt be using the pool right away. Well when i came back about 3-4 hours later i came back to a bunch of people sitting at my table and i was fuming. The woman said well i didnt see anyone here for hours, i said but i came down when open to reserve my spot and you shouldnt be moving my stuff and it wound up into a bit of a fight (luckily they didnt say too too much and moved). I would rather avoid that kind of situation in the future.

I am in the process of planning our trip and we had the Nick hotel picked as our hotel. I would appreciate any more positives and negatives about the resort. We are going over Newyears and will have 4 kids under 4 and one who is 6 with us!

I'm sure it will be a lot of fun over new year's-- I'd bet they have some fun programming.

Just be aware that the pools are heated but the slides are not. It was hot when we were there and the slides/sprinklers were frigid!!

We stayed there last summer for 3 nights. 2 nights would have been better. My kids loved it and we celebrated the twins 2nd birthday there.

I only issue was dining. The buffets were pretty expensive and not that great. They do have a food court and we ended up eating lots of Subway a Pizza Hut. It would be best if you had a rental car and could go eat off property.

Travelzoo has an $89 special on the 2 bedroom kidsuites right now for rooms Aug 17th to Nov 30th. You have to book by June 30th. This is the best rate I've seen for a 2 bedroom suite there. There is also a $28 per night resort fee so add that to the price.

We've gone twice this year and had a great stay both times. My boys, 8 and 4, love it.

We went in October and it was fine. Not crowded at all. Ate in the restaurant. Not bad not good. We went up to the Publix right up the street and shopped and then made meals in the hotel. The kids loved it. We liked it too. I have pictures of the rooms but don't know how to post them...

I called the hotel asking about the travelzoo rate using the promo code and they had no idea about it. I tried going online and there is no place to enter the promo code? Any ideas?

You were wrong. Three or four hours?? Unreasonable. It wasn't "your" table - it 'belonged' to the people USING it.

I agree, there are no reserving tables & chairs for that amount of time. I can see while you are in the water, but not in your room. Reservations are when you "pay" like renting a cabana, then it is "your cabana"

I just went thru the link & it doesn't show any $89 rates, nor does it say rate sold out/no longer available which is what it usually does with TZ :confused3

We stayed at this hotel on our last WDW vacay and we loved it. We are staying at POP this time only for the convenience of the dining plan and making ressies sooner.

Kids loved everything at Nick especially the character breakfast for my daughters birthday.

What I didn't like was they don't provide transportation from the airport like other hotels (very expensive with 6 ppl) and the food was expensive but the kitchen helped( we went shopping at walmart, 5 min away)

If you are eating in your room or offsite and drive yourself then the rest of the hotel is great! Try the nick theatre.. me and the kids had a blast!
