I saw a bad recent review a few threads below....but I just wanted to see if anyone had any tips.

We are considering this hotel for 1 night (a Saturday night) before checking in to BCV, is there enough to do at the hotel to keep us occupied for a day? We'd try to do the character breakfast of course. But swimming -- are the pools REALLY heated? This'll be in November when it may be hit and miss. And DH and I hate swimming in cold cold water. And other kid activities?

Kiddos are 6 and 2 and love Spongebob (the 6yo) and Dora (the 2yo).

Cheapest rate I could find was $195 for a bunk beds suite or $161 for a regular room.

Thanks!

We stayed for 2 days in Nov. 06 before a week in a condo. We got in late the first night so we really were only there for 1 full day. It was cool, there was enough to do for a day and if my kid was younger we'd be going for 2 days again this coming trip.

Pool was warm till the sun went down over the building.

It's a kids hotel, if you can be in that mindset, it's great, if you're expecting more, you may be disappointed.

I would love more info about this too. We have flights into Orlando on 12/5 but our WDW reservations don't begin till 12/7.
Our kids have always wanted to go to the Nick hotel so I thought we'd stay there 12/5 and 12/6 (about a day and a 1/2 to play excluding travel time).

I'm a little worried about the temp of the pools that time of year though, and wondering if it is as bad as some of the reviews say. I've heard either great or awful things...not much in the middle.

We aren't expecting anything other than a waterpark type environment. We have a Great Wolf Lodge here in Kansas City and I figured it would be much like that, only with characters.

We just did this on Monday of this week.

For me, the hotel was loud, obnoxious and over the top. But, the kids had a great time!

The Nick Hotel will allow you to access their facilities anytime after noon on the day you are to check in, even though check in is supposed to be 4:00 pm. If your room is not ready, they will give you the wristbands and you can use all of the facilities. You might want to pack a day bag with your swimsuits, sunscreen, etc. for the day.

They have the character breakfast, 4 D movies, an arcade, a kid spa for hair wraps, manicures, tattoos, braids, etc., the nightly family game show and of course the pools. Most everything involves an extra charge (not the game show or pools) and I know that the show requires reservations. Since we were there only one night, we couldn't get reservations for the breakfast or show. I don't know if you can get reservations in advance or if you need to do it once you have checked in. The characters also roam the "mall" during certain hours during the day.

This is not a restful place, but definitely a lot of fun. For our family a day or two is fine but we wouldn't want to stay there for a full week.

Whatever you decide, have a great trip!
