My 2DS (ages 7 and 9) want to stay there and I was thinking about booking one night at the Nick hotel.

Any advise is appreciated. We have never stayed off property before. :goodvibes

We just got back from Nick last week, I can really identify, we never stayed off Disney or Universal hotel, so I was very concerned too. First I have to say it's a decent hotel, Clean, nothing fancy, Rooms were good, we are use to Disney Deluxe hotels, so I wouldn't say up to that standard but ok. mini fridge/coffee pot, nice. The hotel it's self is awesome for kids, but a word of warning since you only have a 2year old. there are a TON of kids, and he might be a little small to do any of the slides alone, so be prepared to go up with him. The sides at the large pool don't let out into the pool, so he will be able to go down the slide alone but have someone on the other end to catch him, because this is the type of place, you can't blink when you are looking at kids, you'll lose them. That was really the only complaint I have about the place, way too many kids (which I expected) but having a littler one is difficult, because most just let them go and little ones can get knocked down or hurt.

IMO, I wouldn't take my 4 year old GS again until he was older. Feel free to PM or ask me anything else you would like to know about hotel, clean/reasonable place, just a little too crazy for me.

I agree w/ above poster, we go every year for a couple of nights before checking into our timeshare, then onto Disney property.
Our kids were probably 4 and 5 when we first went, my kids were in floaties still then, and I have to say it is more fun now that they are older( 9 and 10)
My DH and I can relax by pool w/ some good drinks (best in Orlando).
Again fun, clean, great staff. Not cheap though.

Thanks for the input. I should of said my sons are 7 and 9. So they might enjoy it. I am sure I will not... but this is for them.

Sorry mis-read your first post, thought your son was 2 (2DS) - 7 & 9 PERFECT, they will love it. It's not a bad hotel, it's just really, really geared to kids, they rule there. I have to say though, the "Mall" is really nice, food is very reasonable, and there is a place you can pick up quick stuff too, but if possible bring some munchy stuff w/ya, nice to have in the room. If you want to know anything else about the place, more than happy to answer.

We are going to the Nick Hotel before our DIsney stay in July. I hope it is okay to piggyback on this thread rather than starting a new one.

We have plans to stay one night. We plan to arrive around noon and then start using the pools and resort before checking into our room. We would like to leave the hotel by noon the next day. Is that enough time to see and do most of the activities at the hotel? I have read the Nick website, but it is hard to tell.

Our kids will be 7 and 9 also! Glad to hear those are good ages!

Thanks for any help that you can offer!

We stayed there 4 years ago and the kids still talk about wanting to go back! We didn't do anything but the pool and stayed busy for 2 days.

We took our daughters 8 and 11 on christmas eve and we had a blast!!!! My youngest chose to go back for her birthday so we will be returning in August and can't wait. They have 4-D movies that run through out the day, 7 or so different ones. the cost is $12.50 for the entire length of your stay unlimited movies, or like $4.00 a movie. There are activities indoors as well as outdoors, they have a parade of characters, a trivia game, and a few other things as well.

Thanks so much for the info!

I am going to look into this.

Would you do this before your Disney stay or after?? :confused3

Well we went before going to Disney, because the girls Christmas present was annual passes to Disney and a stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge to start right then. The Nick Hotel experience was Magical for us, and we all had so much fun. It might be nice to go there to kind of unwind after a Disney trip though. I know we always leave exhausted, so hanging out at the pools and water slides might rejuvenate you a bit. I don't think you can loose either way, I mean really Disney and Nick Hotel, can life get any better?:yay:

We've stayed at the Nick Hotel a coupla times and the youngsters LOVE it.
You can easily spend a coupla days there, especially if you spend much time in the (crowded) pools.
This past year, even though we still had WDW tickets left to use and a rental van, the kids wanted to stay at the Nick!

Try to make time to see a studio show. The game show was pretty much just like the old Nickelodeon TV shows...silly, but entertaining.
The character breakfast was good too. I was very pleased with the quality of the food.

I took my twins girls there a couple of years ago (they are 9 now) and they loved it. I really liked it myself - it is totally for kids but i and hubby had fun. The Nick gets some negative reviews on some travel forums ut don't let that stop you from going. We (hubby, myself and girls) have done Disney a few times and although the girls like Disney ...they really want to go back to the Nick. This August, we are going to the Siesta Key/Sarasota area (2nd time) and I might surprise the girls by doing the Nick for 2 days before hand.
