Nick Hotel - Worth it for one night?

We're doing a trip this summer that right now consists for 5 nights in a condo on Ormond Beach, followed by 7 nights at WL. I'm thinking of taking a night off the Ormond segment and surprising DD with a night at Nick Hotel before we go to Disney. But...

Is it worth it for only one night?

Are there plenty of things there to keep a five year old occupied, so that we could make a day of it?

I think I read that it's 4pm check in. Can you check in early and use the amenities while you wait for your room?

And, how do you get the best deal on room rates there? I priced it yesterday and it was $297 for the least expensive room. Is that normal for July, or is there a way to get the rate down?

TIA for any advice! :)

Check-out travelzoo. They should have a code for $129 a night.

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately that rate is only good through May, and we're going in July. :sad1:

Oh well, at this point I'm thinking we'll just stay in Ormond that night. It might be more fun to have the extra time seeing that side of Florida.

Try clicking on the Travelzoo link to book online anyway. I was able to get August for one night $129-. I booked this over Easter. Not sure if they have fixed the rate yet? Let's keep it a secret for us Diser's. Just remember there is $20 resort fee. Make sure you print up at confirmation.

how did you get it by chance? I tried to book June 18-19th online it came up as $199 a night and they wouldnt take it online. I have to wait to call the resort directly at 7am tomorrow. I keep getting error. for us its worth one night but thats about it. we took the kids last summer for 2 days/one night and they loved it..

Looks like they have changed the rates online. My August rate if coming up $199 and I also get an error when trying to book.

I had to call the resort directly and speak to the reservation dept there. It took quite a few calls to get the right person but I did book it for $199 a night. still cheeper than $243 that I was going to pay on their site. thanks so much..
