Nick hotel - character question

We are thinking about staying for one night at the Nick Hotel in September.

It is a bit higher in price that we would like but think it might be worth it if there is a lot of character interaction. Do they have scheduled meet and greets at the hotel like Disney does at the parks? If so, how often are the characters out and what characters are there? Or are the characters out only during character breakfasts?

Would love to hear any info about this. Thanks!

We saw Squigward (SP?) in the lobby unexpectedly. (There was a character meal, but we only stayed one night.)
