Hello,
Last week we had gone to the New York Times Travel Show. Wow, talk about dreaming!! :cloud9:
We were just going through the fifty pounds of booklets, etc. and I came upon the Nick Hotel (Holiday Inn) pamplet. Out popped a coupon for 25% off a two-bedroom kidsuite.
It says:
New York Times Travel Show
Attendee Special
Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn
25%off 2 bedroom kidsuites

MUST BOOK BY 3/31/06 and ask for rate IDOTHNYT
IDOTHNYT
This offer based on availability. Valid for travel through December 31, 2006

This was handed to me by a representative who was standing at the booth. Sponge Bob was also there, but Sea World stole the show!

Also, if the Nick Suites are too expensive, another option is to rent a condo or a timeshare. We do it every year. I find it is necessary to have a washer and dryer in the room with us. I wash my family's clothes every night and I love returning home with a suitcase full of clean laundry.

We usually rent whenever we see a timeshare promotion. In fact, we're going down in October to the Marriot Grande Vista (I think that's it).
When we went down last year we rented a 2 bedroom condo for $90 per night from Magical Memories condos. We went with a huge group and we all had decent accomodations.

Thank you so much for posting this code. I just called up and was able to apply the discount to my reservation, and am now getting 25% off instead of 15% off of my rate. Thanks for saving me money!!

WoooooHooooooo! That's why I posted it...I figured if I don't use it, someone else might. Glad to hear it!

As far as weekends/weekdays, it says absolutely nothing about either. It just says based on availability. I had quoted the entire 4 x 4 coupon to the T so you don't miss anything.
Give it a try, what do you have to lose? :thumbsup2

Well, not sure if we can afford to do it, but I called the hotel regarding our trip in August--we are currently booked at the doubletree suites--the agent I talked to at nickelodeon didn't know about this code, but she gave me the rate for our "extended stay of 7 nights or more"--the price is 187--just don't know if we can swing it--we will see, thanks Ilisa :)

When you call and the rep said, oh, I don't have that code...then you could tell them that you were at the New York Times Travel Show on the 25th of February and the representative personally handed that coupon to you and you know it is valid, maybe I can speak to a manager?
Or tell them that you won't stay there unless you get that 25% off?
Sometimes even the Disney reps aren't fully informed. If you don't get an answer that you like, hang up and call back later.

As far as the validity of the code, it states that it expires on March 31, 2006 and your stay must be Before December 31 of this year.

When I first asked about the code the agent from Nick hotel said he didn't see the code in the system, but then I persisted and explained it was from New York Times Travel Show and finally said he found the promo.

I've called a couple of times and they can't find the code. I'm tentatively booked right now; so I'm thinking about what to do. I'll try calling a few more times and see if they can "find" the code.

Thanks for posting!!!!!

I was just on hold for 37 minutes trying to get this promo. Finally, after much "looking" the operator told me I needed to call the hotel reservation desk directly. I did and since there was no manager on duty (what?!?!?! I ask... no manager on duty?!?!?!?! oooohhhhhhhhh, no RESERVATIONS manager on duty).

I have to call back tomorrow and speak to the manager. Well, my DH is going to do this since he is much better at being persistent than I. I'll let you know if it works....

My gosh! By the reaction of all the posters who tried to get this great deal, you'd think the management of the Nick Hotel was getting ripped off or something. I can't believe what a hard time you posters are getting. All I can say is don't back down - a 25% discount is a great discount and I would not give up in trying to obtain it! Personally I feel the rates at this hotel are wayyyyy too high, and there is not even a washer/dryer in the room.

Keep up the fight, it is a legitimate code so don't back down! Get what you deserve!! Spend that money elsewhere in Orlando!!!

It took me 2 calls, and about 10 minutes total on hold, but I finally did get the rate. I was transfered to the Help Desk, and after much poking around based on all the info I gave them (the name of the trade show, the code, the terms, etc) they finally found it.

The rate is still a bit high IMO, but at least it is under $200 now for our June stay.

Thank you SO much for posting this deal!!!

Well, I had my DH call today and try to get the code to work. It did! :cool1: He just called the hotel number directly (407/387-5438) and said he wanted to book a room. Gave the dates and they said yes to availability and told him what was available. He said "great, I have a 25% off coupon from the travel show and want the 2-bedroom Sponge Bob". She quoted him the price and gave him the confirmation number. The price is off the rack rate, but it is still cheaper than what I was finding on the website. The reservation can be cancelled for a full refund.

Could you please share how much you paid? What was the rack rate and when are you going?

Thanks!

We are going for 1 night - June 26. The rack rate was $274, and the 25% off brought it down to $206. The lowest I could find for the King Suite was $207.
The way I look at it is that I am saving a dollar AND getting the Sponge Bob theme room that my DS will flip over!

:sunny: THANK YOU!!! What a great discount!! I was a little leary about calling the hotel to see if we could get this discount after reading some of the messages. I booked our stay last month and was told that the 7 night extended stay discount was about the best we were going to get on our King Suite. This was for $200 a night.

I just called and asked if we could use the discount which was offered at the New York Times Travel Show and she immediately said YES! She didn't even ask me for a discount code. Yet, I'm not sure we got a full 25% off, I think it comes to about 20% the Best Flex rate - which is perfectly fine with me :cool1:

Our final price is $187 per night for 7 nights!

Thanks again!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if you need to actually give a down payment or full payment at the time of booking for this code? Can you just make the reservation with the discount and pay later?

TIA!
