What is the nicest, cheapest hotel you have stayed at off site? We always stay off site (bottom line is that is is less expensive). We usually choose the same Day's Inn. The last time it wasn't as nice as previously.

So we are in the midst of planning our next trip. I am wondering where anyone has stayed recently and they were really impressed with the hotel, especially the price.

We stayed at the Renaissance WorldGate for $35 a night through Priceline. It was clean, had a fridge and coffee pot for no extra charge, and it was a quick drive to WDW.

We stayed at Holiday Inn Family Suites. If you have kids this is the place to go. We paid $80.00 a night with the entertainment card price. Free hot buffet breakfast for everyone and kids eat lunch and dinner for free.

This hotel also had a microwave, refridgerator and coffee maker.

We saved a ton of money on food and the hotel.

Like the poster above said... I would definitely try Priceline. You can get some real deals. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com and look under Florida WDW hotels and see what other have gotten. I highly recommend them. Just remember once you book with priceline you are committed, you can't cancel.

we have reservations, one night only though, before on-site, at PARK ORLANDO MAINGATE EAST, two rooms at $20.00 per night plus tax thru priceline. two star hotel with frige and microwave in each room. never stayed there, but for the price, can't go wrong.

previously stayed at the renissance for $35 per night with priceline, very nice hotel, and very close to disney.

I need to reserve 3 rooms-- going with family. Are you able to bid for 3 rooms at once on Priceline? We all want to be at the same hotel.

The least expensive NICEST places can be found on Priceline. I've been to the Marriott Orlando World Center for $60 a night and that had to the best deal I ever got in Orlando.

You can book up to four rooms at a time with Priceline. Be sure to check out www.biddingfortravel.com as stated above for a wealth of information. Also, remember that Priceline reservations are non-changeable and non-refundable so make sure your dates are "set in stone" to avoid disappointment and lost $$$. We have an October trip to WDW planned thanks to Priceline. We got the Rosen Centre on I-Drive and Sheratorn Safari for $30 and $34 respectively. Good luck.

It partly depends on your definition of "nice." I've never stayed at Marriott World Center but I have been to a conference there and know that it is a very nice hotel. However, I suspect that the actual rooms are similar to other hotels. On the other hand, in November we stayed at the Days Suites Maingate East/Old Town. We had a huge 1-bedroom suite with a very large living room with Murphy bed, a full eat-in kitchen and a spacious bedroom with plenty of closet space and a second sink/dressing area. We paid $39.95/nite which included about $40 worth of free ride tickets for Old Town which is a very short walk across the street. It wasn't a glamorous hotel, but we thought it was a tremendous value for the price. We'll be back there this November.

We are stayiong at Orange Lake country Club this September for under $250 for the week in a 2 bedroom suite. Thsi includes all taxes, etc and OLCC is an amazing place.

Email me at ghawton@meritas.ca if you want to know how you can do it too and I'll send the details by email.

Beats two or three hotel rooms anyday when you can have a full kitchen, a king size bed and two queens and a pullout sofa, etc.

Off-site is the way for me.

Last Sept. we stayed at the AmeriSuites, Calypso Cay. Using the entertainment card, it was $35 per night. That included breakfast for four of us!

The room had a fridge and microwave. There was a king size hideaway and two queen beds. Only a half wall between the two areas, so not nearly the privacy that the Quality near Old Town has. But, I really liked it MUCH better. This facility is new. The suites near Old Town seemed quite worn to me.

I'm another Priceline believer for off-site stays. You just get more for less, as long as you're not picky to the point of needing "specifics."

Before discovering Priceline, my favorite offsite for a cheap visit was the Courtyard at Marriott Village Little Lake Bryan. We used to get it via government rate for about $50. Great pool, great rooms, great location. Now, I'm staying there in June for the second time via Priceline for $35 a night. Go figure.

Hawt1, if you are using sky auction, I defintely agree with you. I will not stay in a hotel when I can get a nice resort for $200-$250 for 7 nights. We get a 2 bdrm or 3 bdrm, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, jacuzzi, 2 baths and 2 or 3 T.V.'s for that price. There is always a nice pool, playground for the kids, and many extras. It is great! Orange Lake CC is my favorite.

Thank you for all the replies. Priceline sounds like the way to go for a great deal. The biggest draw back being. We have 3 of us (DH, DS -10, and I). The other 2 rooms are for 2 adults each so they'd be okay. I am just worried that we won't get a double room for our son. Someone once before suggested getting an air mattress in that case. That's still a possibility. I guess as we get closer the deals should get better.

Have you tried a vacation rental home? I booked one for an entire month from Orlando Villas with a heated pool, a fully equipped home with kitchen, garage, PS2, PC W/internet acess and taxes included for less than $100 a night. Its the only way for us to keep costs down for a long stay. Resort or local motel rooms would be way out of the budget when you figure in the cost of eating out for a family. No I am not trying to steer anybody there, I just feel its a good deal, its owned by a family from the UK.

I really wouldn't worry about getting a room with two beds in Florida. We are a family of 4 and I booked our last trip to WDW on Priceline... 3 different hotels, didn't have a problem getting rooms with 2 beds in any of them. After getting my confirmation on the hotels, I called and requested two beds. Also after getting confirmations, I went to the hotels websites and joined their preferred customer programs, i.e, starwood preferred, marriott rewards, etc.

Priceline usually gives nice hotels for cheap rates. I've gotten some decent one start hotels for as little as $20. It beast paying $50+ for the same thing!

It seems as though priceline is the way to go. When the trip gets closer I think we will give it a go. Well, once I can buy airline tickets anyway- to be 100% sure of the dates. As of right now southwest has their schedule out for September, so I figure in a few more weeks I should be able to get some ideas.

Agree with Robinrs, I got MOWC for $79 thru priceline, easily the most bang for the buck ever in Orlando. The Dolphin for $76 last year aint too shabby either, but location aside MOWC is a nicer hotel than the Dolph (I'll get plenty of dissenters for that statement) :-). It really pays big dividends to visit in the low season - just after Labor Day, if you can.
