I was just lurking on the Teen board and noticed someone had registered as wilmabride'sdaughter. I checked it out and, yes, it's my daughter Sian. It was so cool to see her message there and (don't laugh) it made me feel just a little bit closer to her

Could you all go and say 'Hi' to her for me and welcome her to the DIS. Please excuse her text speak - I've warned her now that she has to type properly so people don't think my daughter's fick ;)

Will go over and say hello now Joh :)

Popping over now, it's nice she shares your love of Disney :goodvibes

:sunny:

Thanks girls :)

Florence, I can't believe how close you are to your goal now. Well done :) Can't wait to see those promised pictures ;)

Oh that's lovely - heading over there now to Welcome her :thumbsup2

You are right to warn her !
The way kids write/type these days really makes me cringe...the problem being that they seem to carry it on into adulthood now...worryingly ive seen frequent examples of it in the workplace from young adults.

If I ever catch any of my kids doing it when they are older, they are in for it ! :furious:

The amusing thing about your daughters posting is the way she spells the word "come", which is actualy the "porn" way of spelling it (you might want to avoid a google search on the word using her spelling), so you have to think twice how you read it :rotfl2:

I bet the English teachers these days are pulling their hair out when they mark assignments ! Or am I the only one with one foot in the grave (at 36).

Been and said hello - feel a bit of a fraud looking on the teen board, it's a long, long, long time since I saw my teen years :rotfl2: felt as though I was spying - like looking in someone's private diary, am I daft or what.

I must admit, I find it really frustrating when seh types like that. The strange thing is she is top of her class at English and her 'everyday' writing is of an excellent standard. So it makes me even more annoyed when she does it. I have explained to her that chatting with her mates on msn is one thing but, on these boards, she must use proper English.

I suspect that on the teen board, the Queens English might look out of place though. The others will probably think she's stuck up !
