Traveling the end of March. Already booked a place to stay in San Antonio but flights cost so much more to there. So now we are thinking of staying in Houston instead which will actually be more convenient for my MIL since she lives in Houston. But her place is too small for us to stay in.

I want a resort feel and heated outdoor pool. There are some places in the Woodlands but reviews are not that great. Help!

We were there last summer and stayed at the Drury Inn and Suites. very nice; great rooms and the stay includes not only breakfast but snack type foods for dinner (baked potatoes, hotdogs; chicken tenders; fries, soups, etc). It also includes 2 or 3 drinks for each adult in your party. (adult drinks I mean).
My rate was somewhere around $85 in Houston and we did get a $10 off code because we'd also stayed at a Drury in San Antonio earlier that week. We did two rooms and for us it was a great value because not only did we have myself and DH, we had MIL, and 6 kids (ages 18,18 (dd's BF), 16,15,11, and 3). So we fed all of the kids and us there :)

How was the pool? In a nice sunny spot? Or was in indoor? Thanks!

Most embassy suites have heated indoor pools. Outdoors heated pools are usually harder to find. There are several embassy suites in the Houston area.

What part of Houston are you looking for? It's a very big city and spread out. Kind of like saying where is a good place to stay in New York City.

Hi! Anyplace in the Houston area but not in the city. We are looking at La Torretta Lake Resort, a little pricey though. Any other suggestions?

??? If not La Torretta, I guess I would have suggested the resort in The Woodlands, which you were wary of.

I've lived in Houston for 14 years. It's just not a touristy destination... Thus not a place to find "resorts." It's a great place to live and work. :thumbsup2

My kids love Sclitterbahn in Galveston... Maybe hotel near there? Sorry you are not finding what you are looking for. As I say, Houston is just not a touristy place.
