Ok. No FP is a problem. No doubt about it.

DW and I just spent a 3 night long weekend at WDW and we had a great time. It wasn’t the “commando” trip we normally take, but without kids, we didn’t intend to be so ride-intense anyway.

Got to WDW at noonish on Sat with a 1-night Poly Reservation. Ate at Kona. Room ready at 1:30. Nap. Got to MK about 4:30:

People Mover
Space Mtn
Haunted
BTMRR
Jungle Cruise

Back to Poly at 9pm and MK fireworks at Poly shore.

Sunday: HS

No 7 am Boarding Pass. So. We decided to go in late, about noon. Checked out of Poly for transfer to 2 nights at Riviera. Hopped to VGF to look around (DW likes Basin store there). Then VGF to HS and skyliner to Riviera. Dropped our loot, took DVC Riviera tour, back to HS about noon.

Star Tours
1pm snagged BG123 for Rise. Boom.
Oga’s (reservation)
Savi’s (reservation)

Back to Riviera room for recharge.
Back to HS for Rise then off to EPCOT for F&W
Soarin’

Monday

AK about 10:30 am
Expedition Everest (25 min)
FOP (160 min standby time / 100 min actual)
Done

Ate at Sanaa. Bus to HS.

HS
RnR
MMRR
Done

Heavy Rain interlude

EPCOT F&W part 2
EPCOT Forever

and now at airport.

We fell in love with Riviera. That might be problematic.

We were able to have a great long weekend despite the lack of FP issue - and we do believe that it’s an issue.

Oh. I originally booked flights out of Houston Hobby and they were changed along the way to Intercontinental at Houston (IAH).

I forgot about the change. Yikes.

we showed up at 4:30am at Hobby for our 6:10 flight and only after we couldn’t find our flight did we realize we were - - - - at the wrong airport.

We flew (up the highway) at 70 mph and even though we had secured “group A” seating for SW, we arrived at the end of “B” boarding.

1 minute later and we wouldn’t have been able to sit together. 10 min and we would have missed the flight.

We told flight attendant about our misadventure and she said, “You DO know what IAH stand for, right?”

“It Ain’t Hobby!”

Shared with our DS who lives in Houston!

We did not.
Each trip, our family -- including the kids -- has a debate about which restaurant is their favorite, Topolino's or California Grill. Then we have to eat at both to gather more evidence. Still no consensus, so the evidence-gathering continues...

We are greatly considering selling our 250 pt BCV contract (which we paid $84/pt in 2014) and using the proceeds to buy a May fixed week at Riviera. We already have a Nov fixed week at Poly.

Plus. We’d still have a 100 AKV points to play with.

We would not buy at Riviera without a fixed week because of our concerns about the 11 month window with the resale restriction AND because if we ever do sale, the fixed week would be an advantage to a resale buyer, and so maybe sell at a premium.

But. We’ve had 8 great UYs at BCV (essentially for free) and the price differential between what we paid and current market would allow us to straight up buy in at Riviera.

We love BCV and would just hang there except the resale pricing is outrageous and can’t last given its 2042 horizon. We’d be foolish not to almost double our money while the market is insane.

Finally, with an 8yo and 13 yo, buying in at Riviera gives us two more or less equal properties to split between the two (Poly and Riviera). We’d put one name on each contract as they become adults. Not so difficult to do with a 4 year differential between contracts. Harder to be fair when there’s a 25 yr difference.
