Hello all. I am sure this has been asked several times, however I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions for a nice (on the level of Disney Value or Moderate) and inexpensive suggestions for a hotel near or on the I-Drive? We are planning on staying 2-3 nites off site in the beginning of our trip to do Universal and Seaworld and I am having a hard time figuring out which hotels are good to stay in. I have AAA so if any of them offer AAA discounts thats a plus too! A free breakfast would be nice too but I am not going to get picky...Oh yeah, this would be for next Aug so definitly want a pool at the hotel too. :sunny:

more familiar with the timeshares.

the Renassiance is not expensive - but nice. However, it is a business hotels so during holidays it can be expensive.

It is next door to the Seaworld.

La Quinta Inn has two on I-Drive. My friends all stayed at the Convention Center one earlier this month. The rooms were all clean, free breakfast, free high speed internet, near the I Ride and LYNX bus, etc. Staff was terrific too.

We all spent a few nights at the English Pub across the street also.

I stay at Hawnthorn Suites in July while at Conferenace this Summer. Hawnthorn Suites was clean and had excellent free hot breakfeast. It on 7601 Canada Avenue. Close to US and Sea World and plenty resturants.

Thanks MargieJ and Crazelion! :thumbsup2

Crazelion - is the Hawthorn Suites, suites or are there regular rooms there?

I am going to check out both of those hotels, as they sound exaclty like what I am looking for! Maybe I can get a good AAA rate!

It's all Suites they have one and two bedroom suites. I stay in the one bedroom suite the bedroom had 2 queen beds with a door. A living room and kicthen. With a real stove and fridge. Big hit with me and mom was the 2 TVS in the suite. One in the bedroom and one living room. They have a breakfeast, bacon, eggs, pancakes, fruit, toast, and milk, and juice.

I know for a fact they have AAA rates because I use my AAA card there.

It has been a few years, but I spent several weeks at the Homewood Suites. They are usually top notch and not too expensive for what you get.

I'm on right now looking for a room in the same area. I found the Clarion Univeral, which was about $10 cheaper using the internet rate, than the AAA rate. Microtel also is much cheaper through Orbitz, than their own site. We just need a place to sleep on our way from Western FL to Eastern, so we aren't very fussy. Reviews that say it's clean and has a laundromat will do for us.
