Nice Amazon holiday season commercial back again

Some folks think Amazon the company can be controversial. That's a topic for the Controversial Board. This thread is just posting a TV commercial that Amazon came out with 2 years ago and is now replaying, presumably for and during the upcoming season. I saw it once today during the Bears football game.

I smiled back then, smiled again today. Some commercial writers just know how to tug at certain heartstrings, oftentimes past memories. Wish I could do those hills again like oh so many years ago.

We love that commercial and get a laugh out of it every time we see it. I didn't know where it came from and I don't care really. It's a wonderful commercial that just makes you feel good

What's also great is that these women are getting a nice chunk of change from the commercial to help them in their latter years. Actors no longer get paid every time a commercial airs, due to how many cable TV channels there are. Last I read, actors instead get paid for every 13 week cycle a commercial runs. And paid per market/region that shows the commercial. Since this is Amazon, it's a national commercial, so many markets. And since this is the second(?) year this commercial is running, during the summer months the commercial is not airing, they get a holding fee during that time, so the actors can't go and film a competitor's commercial during that time. And if it shows on the Internet, they get money for that.

Oh yea, I remember seeing that commercial again recently. It's cool. It really looks like something I would try at that age

No. BUT - we were traveling for the last 4 months and relying on local internet access. We're back home now, and the link works.

Oftentimes for commercials are run a bit longer they make abbreviated ones to run in slightly shorter time slots.

Joshua Tree 1960s dad pulled us behind his pick-up as we sat on a car hood turned paint side down down the roads of the U-2 album Joshua Tree...car hood today probably a couple $1,000.... Joshua Tree album..$millions ...... sliding on the snow PRICELESS

Wow-a car hood-how nice and big and comfortable. Whenever I see that commercial, I'm reminded of how our big thing was sliding on cafeteria trays. Did anyone else do that? It was a big thing around our area-all the colleges in Worcester did it (there's a reason why it's called "the 7 hills of Worcester), Tatnuck Hill, etc. Those ladies would fit right in!
