Just returned from Niagara Fallsview Waterpark
Mini Review:

Skyline Inn
We booked with the Travelzoo special (one night @ $99 including room, hershey welcome basket, parking, 2 waterpark passes good from day of check-in until 3 pm the next day).
We bought two additional passes at $20 per pass.

Although Saturday April 7 was a black out date, when I called to enquire about Easter weekend, I was offered the Saturday night for the travelzoo rate!!!!
I then added on room only for Sunday night (April 8 ) at $55 plus tax.

Check-in: quick and efficient, were booked into a tradtional room (NO view), vs. courtyard room (rooms opens onto courtyard), vs. superior (with balcony). I had read of people being upgraded to higher category but did not request, as I had no preference for room location. Check-in clerk was very nice and offered us a bag containing marvel city adventure tokens, plastic rainforest cafe cups for kids, spiderman comic, crayons, small coluring book, coupons etc.

We were assigned a traditional room that provided us a view of some sort of air ventilation/heating system !!! No problem as we were not expecting a view of any sort. The room was standard size, two queen beds, fridge and had recently been completely renovated (as had the entire motel). The room was very clean.

HUGE hershey basket waiting in the room for us (part of Travelzoo package). It was much larger them I expected.

Unpacked and went to the water park. Water park was great: 125,000 sq. ft. consisting of a good sized wave pool, 6 slides for 42 inches plus, 2 slides for 48 inches plus PLUS a HUGE beach house area, hard to describe . This area (for 40 inches and up) had a huge water tipping bucket, several slides, and about 4 different levels to run and play , splash etc. Also a toddler splash pad area near the beach house as well as two hot tubs for 16 + only.
Also one small outdoor pool that was open and heated nicely. We were brave, went outside and swam in it. Not something I would want to do again since it was awful to have to get back out and then to run quickly back into the waterpark. The kids thought it was fun though.

We found the water park staff friendly and the water park very clean.

At the waterpark there as also a restaurant and arcade but we did not use those so can't comment.

That evening we were feeling pretty water logged so ordered dominos and then went to the marvel city adventure area where for $7.95 each the kids played in the spiderman and friends fun house for about 1.5 hours (parents no charge with kids). Then we played a few arcade games with the free tokens. We have been to the marvel city adventure arcade on two other occasions and with each visit find it to be more and more understaffed and generally run down in nature. A lot of dirt in the corners and peeling paint etc. It really needs a good cleaning, painting etc IMHO.

After this went back to the Skyline Inn and watched Finding Nemo in Courtyard #2. The Skyline Inn has four enclosed "tropical" courtyards and played movies in Courtyard #2 each night.

Next day we got up and went back to the waterpark . Lines for the slides seemed minimal in the morning, but grew longer as day went on.

After a few hours we were feeling pretty water logged again so went back to room, ate leftover pizza and let the kids watch some cable (we don't have cable or satelite so watching tv on holiday is a real treat for the kids).

In the afternoon, we visited Hershey store and saw the Hershey kiss character.
Then went back to the marvel city adventure for a skeeball tournie with Spiderman (part of Easter activities offered to hotel guests). It was a lot of fun. Back to room for a bit more tv time, then off to the rainforest cafe for dinner. Since DD will be having a birthday in a few days, the server brought her out some ice cream with a candle in it. She was very impressed. In fact, the whole weekend she kept thanking me for the amazing birthday present (the weekend in Niagara).

Then back to the hotel for another movie in courtyard and to bed.

This morning we checked out early since DH had to work this afternoon and we are a fair distance from Niagara Falls.

All in all, a wonderful time and a great value money wise I thought. An added bonus was that from the Skyline Inn, we were able to access the waterpark, Brock Plaza, Sheraton hotel, Hershey store, Marvel City adventure, Rainforest cafe, souvie shops etc though cat walks etc. Great since it was very cold this weekend.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask .

Thanks for the review! We have been wanting to take the kids there. So you stayed at the Skyline Inn Vs. the Fallsview hotel? :confused3 Or is the fallsview water park right at the Skyline Inn? Do you know if they play movies every weekend or was this something special? Thanks

Lee :thumbsup2

Oh and I was wondering do you know if you can still get the deal you guys got? Or was it just over easter? Where would I find this deal? Thanks for any help!!!!

The waterpark is called the Niagara Fallsview Waterpark. The hotels associated with it (and attached to it through catwalks etc.) are called the Skyline Inn (least expensive where we stayed), Brock Plaza and the Sheraton Fallsview. The other hotel associated with it is called the Hampton Inn (not attached via a walkway, about one block away).

These hotels are all bookable with/without waterpark packages through
www.niagarafallshotels.com

I am registered to receive weekly speicals through www.travelzoo.com.
This special appeared sometime in March on their top 20 weekly specials and I booked it at that time. At that time the special had to be booked by the end of March for dates that ran March-May (with Saturday not being offered at all plus a few other black out dates).

I would reccommend signing up for travelzoo and see if the special appears again or perhaps calling the 1-800 # listed on the www.niagarafallshotels.com web site directly and asking them if you are still able to book the travelzoo special offer. When I checked out yesterday I asked if I could book again at the same rate for next March and was told "no, sorry , that is a travelzoo rate and I don't know if it will be offered next year or not". The way the reservationist spoke gave me the impression that they are possibly still taking travelzoo bookings for spring 2007 bookings.

I hope I have been of some assistance and you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
:goodvibes

Regarding the movies, I believe they play them each night on the weekends and also during the week for speical occasions (Easter, March break etc etc.)
