Niagara Falls

My DH go a lot last weekend of April. LIke someone else says it can be freaking cold or nice and warm, I have pictures of me in Shorts and sun glasses and i have me bundled up in my Midwest Winter coat and I was still cold. I personally love staying on CDN side and we usually stay at Skyline Inn with pkg. deal. I highly recommend penthouse fallsview Buffut. Also we have like Hard Times for a nice reasonably priced dinner. I spend a lot of time in Hershey store on Falls Ave. and make at least 3 trips back to USA to vist HARD Rock CAFE. My Dh and I have also been known to drive over to Toronto to vist CN tower, The stauium where Blue Jays play, of course I vist the Hard Rocks there too. Maid of the Mist is a must if it's not only 20 degrees out. I personally don't like N. on the Lake but It is a nice relaxing place to vist to get away from all the crazyness of Clifton Hill.

We had a great time there in July 2001. We stayed on the Canadian side and HIGHLY recommend that. We stayed close to the falls, in the Hilton Niagara. Here's a link to my web site. Scroll down the page and you'll see a link to our pictures from this trip. Have a grea time! :sunny: http://terry527.home.comcast.net/

Sign up for a free Players advantage Club card here and get great deals on hotels. www.casinoniagara.com

We've been staying at the Skyline Inn for $42 Canadian and they also give you $20 for the slots!

(You do not have to gamble to get this card or the discounts. Just sign up and after you check in, pick up your card at the casino.)

Have a great time! :)

I vote for the Canadian side too.
This site gives you access to all the motels there. You just type in the dates you want to go and it will give you options of what is available and the cost.

There is also a pass coming in the Spring that allows you to do severral of the activities for one price. Our long weekend in May will most likely be quite busy (this year is falls on May 21-24 I believe)
If you like butterflies, there is a butterfly conservatory. Also, Marine Land is nice to visit if you have the time.

Hope you enjoy your visit there!

I went to Niagara Falls in Oct of 2002 and loved it. Originally we had ressies to saty on the American side but found the conditions of the hotel we booked disgusting. We ended up packing up and leaving the hotel at 2 am and trekking across the border. We stood at the Courtyard by Marriott and it was wonderful. I also suggest Clifton Hill for fun and Maids of the Mist.

We went the summer of 2001. we came in on the Canadian side but stayed on the American side. We stayed at the Holiday Inn. Be sure and eat at the revolving restuarant. We really enjoyed that. We also visited Niagara on the Lake. we did not get to spend as much time as we wanted to because the town's shops close early like 5 or 6 so go early in the day. bEautiful little town.

The Sheraton Fallsview gets my vote. I called for a price before we went. Asked the gal if she could include a breakfast buffet for both like another hotel did, and she said yes. We got the Deluxe Fallsview Guestroom, with a view of the falls, for 3 nights with breakfast, for $543.29 American, all taxes and parking (which isn't included everywhere) included. It has an indoor pool, whirlpool and sauna. It included some coupons for free tours, bus, maid of the mist, etc. as well as two nights dinners.

Niagara Falls:

Where to Stay

If you are planning on going in may or the summer, it may be a little hard to find a "nice" reasonable price hotel room. But, not impossible. I always avoid staying in Niagara Falls during the summer because of the crowds and prices. My family usually goes there in January and February when rates are dirt cheap. After Disney for some odd reason, Niagara Falls is my favorite place to go. It's somthing about running water.

I would definitely stay on the Canadian side because the Hotels are much nicer then the U.S hotels. But, dont avoid the U.S side attractions. I'll get to that soon. I've stayed at the Sheraton on the Falls , Renaissance Fallsview , Hilton Niagara Falls , and theNiagara Falls Marriott . I like each Hotel alot.

Did not have a bad experience in either hotel. Each were very clean and the staff were very nice. If a view is'nt important to you I would go with the Hilton or Renaissance. Each stay they have Falls view rooms, but they don't any more. They are building a very large casino in front of both of them. Both the Hilton and Renaissance have very nice pools. The hilton has a water slide and the Renaissance has two "water falls" flowing into to them. If a view is what you want go with the Sheraton on the Falls or the Marriott. The Sheraton gives you a sliding door to view the falls if you get a fallsview room.

The Sheraton will probably be the busiest. It has the best location, right on the corner of Clifton Hill and Falls Ave. The Sheraton pool has a great view of the falls, but it is small because it's on the 14th floor. The other three are in the Fallsview area which is above the hill. If you don't want to walk far to the falls go with the Sheraton. Also all "big name" hotels will charge you for parking your car a day, any where from $10 to $20cdn. a day. We have eaten at a few of the Hotel Restaurants and they were usually overpriced for what you get.

Hi!

We have been going to Niagra on the Lake for the past 3 Years, we have decided the best times for us to go is either right when the kids get out in June or the week of July 4th here.
They have excellent fireworks on July 4th on the Canadian side!

We did all the touristy things, the falls, they have a ton of stores and Hard Rock Cafe, Hershey Store, (they sell different candy/items different than the ones in Hershey, PA) lots of shopping, some great deals, some not so great!

Our kids like going downtown Niagra Falls at night there's a giant arcade, but we spend so much more time in Niagara on the Lake
a beautiful warm and the people are very special!
Looking forward to our up coming trip in a weeks, I am mean we just came home from 11 days in WDW and surrounding areas, I am the travel'in bug! I love to travel!!!

We always stay outiside Niagara Falls downtown, it's too loud, too many toursists, depending on what you want. Although the first year we did stay right in the heart of the falls, it was interesting and we did enjoy it. We love to travel by car so there's so much more to see than the Falls!

When we go now we stay in Days Inn (it's in a neighborhood/that boarders all the surrounding B & B's so it's much quietier, cleaner and so much less crowds and the there's alot less noise.
DH gets great rates from the Days Inn from Expedia.com
the rooms were clean/comfortable/and we got it for 43.00 plus tax during the July 4th week time. It's so much better to pre pay thru a company like this, you pay no extra Canadian taxes, since the american tourwholesalers pay everything for you, it's all taken care of you, you just check in and your all set.

We are thinking of going to the Octoberfest in Niagra area (it's actually about 1.5 hours away in October this year. There claim is that it's the larges Octoberfest outside Munich. If we get to go in October, I ll post to let you all know what it was like.

Hope some of this info as helped
enjoy your trip to Niagra or Niagra on the Lake
