We live under 20 mins away and we always go to see the lights. With DH in a wheelchair ans the fact he gets cold easy hopefully we get a few mild days.
I'm going. We are booked at the Great Wolf Lodge from November 17-19. We definitely plan to see the holiday Disney display by the Falls. I haven't been to the display since my DD was 2, she is going to be 7 next week! This will be DS2's fist time.
thanks for the link. On the header page there is a pic with Disney characters? Do they attend any events? I haven't been able to locate any Disney stuff there. Anyone?

No characters unfortunately. But the light display dipicting the characters and movies is absolutely beautiful. The display is directly across the street from the Canadian Falls. Here are some photos,
The Butterfly conservatory gets my vote, and the kids love going here too. http://www.niagaraparks.com/garden/butterfly.php
We spent two days in the Falls last New Year's Day, and stayed at the skyline inn, and spent the two days at the Fallsview water park.
I didn't like the conservatory, not what I expected, and the kids didn't like the humidity in there. I also didn't vote for the Skywheel as I've heard many stories of "lovers" on the wheel.
I voted other - we always go for a drive to see the Festival of Lights. I highly recommend the drive around Dufferin Islands. I have done the Skywheel in the summer. I'm sure it would be very pretty when there is snow and ice. If you time it so you are on the wheel around sunset it is great because the lights all come on and it's a different view from the daytime.
I suppose I should also admit I'm a local. It's only about 20 minutes to drive from my house to the Falls. Doesnt' matter thought, I just love seeing the Falls, never tire of it.

In a way it makes it more magical that it's so close, we're so lucky! When we see all the people coming from all around the world, it's amazing. We were there until Saturday afternoon so saw the lights Friday night but I bet the parade/fireworks on Sat nite were nice.
