Niagara Falls, Ontario

Just finalized our day in Toronto. We're at the Sheraton Toronto centre. We have our ROM tickets and centreville for the kids. Very much looking forward to it.

What is ROM?
We are planning two days in Toronto: first day at Toronto Islands and Eaton Centre; second day at Canada's Wonderland. Have you been to any of those? Any advice? (Our kids are 21 and 15.)
I'm going to have to look up Centreville.

Centreville on Toronto island is geared toward under 10 years old.

Wonderland is very much like Cedar Point or Kings Island in Ohio, maybe a little like Six Flags or Knotts in Cali. Large roller coaster park that my older teens LOVE. Nothing at all like Disney tho...

Aren't credit cards safer. What about foreign exchange fees?
We have credit cards, so we could use either one really. Just trying to not put any more on the credit cards. Both have a 3% foreign transaction fee, so that part doesn't make a difference.

Centrevile is perfect for my kids...they are 6 and 9. This is our first time in Canada.

You should look into a card with no forex fee..the capital one quicksilver, chase sapphire preferred and most Amex cards have none. May be too late for this trip but those fees add up.

I just checked with my bank, Chase and they said that they would exchange US to Canadian money for free-no minimum. I'm going that route. Check with your bank to see if they do it.

My bank will do it for free but I forgot to ask (a few weeks ago when I called them) if there's a minimum.

Are you planning on doing both the ROM and Centreville on the same day? I haven't been to either but I live about 45 minutes away and most people say you need at least 6 hours to properly go through the ROM.

Just an update on the Fallsview casino parking. If you leave on a Sunday it is $30. Friday and sat was $20. No added tax. I still saved money. Our hotel was 18 plus 1.80 tiff +2.34 HSt for an outside surface lot (with in and out privileges) and we stayed for two nights and didn't need to move the car. Plus indoor covered parking

Do you know what the week day price would be? We would be parking on Sunday and leaving on Monday, and then coming back on Tuesday and leaving on Thursday.

We will do centreville on Monday when we arrive in Toronto from Niagara Falls. The ROM will be done on Tuesday Morning and then we will head back to Niagara Falls that afternoon.

I got the centreville tix on groupon. I paid $44.00 Canadian for 90 tickets, 4 cokes and popcorn. This deal is no longer being offered. I also bought Niagara Falls fun zone passes for 4 on groupon. It's still available but the price is $20.00 more now!

My kids are a bit younger but love the islands. You can rent bikes off the island ( they are expensive on) and go to ward island first ( less busy ferry ride). There is a frisbee golf course there too. We take a little picnic but the restaurant on ward island isn't too over priced. There is a beach there. We had found a living social coupon for stand up paddle board lesson on the lake. The kids liked it.

You can prepay your ferry tickets on line to bypass the line that is sometimes quite long

Thanks for the info. Any tips for the amusement park?

For Canada's wonderland. Try to go on a weekday. Just like Disney arrive at rope drop. Try to do the big coasters early. Go to the water park when it opens. Food is expensive and bad. We normally take a picnic. You can go back to your car and there are some areas just outside the gate where you can sit in the shade and eat. They don't give out free ice water.
