We are just hours from face-off of Game 3. The Bruins can take a commanding lead or the Penguins can spring board themselves right back into this series. But all and all we can expect to be entertained by a great game. And that's what this is, a game.
I'm about to put on my PSA hat for minute. Please excuse me, and I will try not to be too preachy. I accept that I am a die hard Boston sports fan. I engage in discussions, heated discussions and down right arguments about teams, players and stats. I will engage in trash talk with fans of other teams. In fact, I routinely trade jabs with my cousin's husband, who is a die hard Jets/Islanders fan. I think bets between mayors are funny. As are pranks (Boston bar crank calling a Pittsburgh bar) and sales/promotions (Pittsburgh bar not selling Sam Adams or Boston Pizza temporarily changing it's name to "Vancouver Pizza" in 2011).
But as some of you may have already heard, and I just found out the other night, of a certain lead singer who made tweet that was not only blindly devotional to his team, but incredibly insensative. Now, I am probably 1 of the least sensative or politically correct people you will ever meet, but when I heard of this I went so far past offended and right into angry. I will not post any links to this tweet or supplementle articles.
Use your heads when using social media.
Now... To keep this post a little bit light, here is the article from yardbarker.com about the crank call:
After the Boston Bruins dismantled the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 2, some Boston fans decided to prank call a Pittsburgh bar. The Bruins fan asked the bar for Owen and after asking a few times finally said Owen Two, 0-2 as in the record of the series between the Bruins and Penguins.
I would've posted the
youtube vid that goes with this, but it contains a naughty word or 2.
Game 3 tonight.
LET's GO BRUINS!!!
