Hello! :wave2:

Are you the same "Wog" on the CruiseCritic boards?? We just returned from an RCL cruise...Mariner-Western Caribbean. LOVED IT!! Would like to do the DCL thing, but don't think my 15 and 13 y.o. would have enough to keep them occupied.

Are you a "native"? Like so many others, I'm a Mass transplant; but I've been here 15 years, so I feel like I belong here now!

Take care,
Sammy

Yes, I am, one and the same.

I was born in Boston, but moved to Nashua when I was about 3 years old (over 30 years ago). Mom and grandparents were from here, so I consider myself native.

Sorry, my son just turned 8 and was 6 when we went on DCL and he loved it. I am not sure how much the older children would enjoy it, but we did see teen agers and they seemed to be having a good time. My son does want to return to DCL and we are looking at the Western in 2007, but haven't decided yet. I think he may like the RCI Voyager class ships when he gets older, but for now he wants to do Disney. We loved the ship and all it had to offer. It was a great time, but a bit pricey, especially compared to other lines, but I still think it was worth it. Plus it was our first cruise so it was a great benchmark.

We just moved from near Holman stadium to out past Nashua North HS - just for a bit of location info.

I can say that my 16 and 13 yo dd's LOVE the DCL. In fact last year we went to Hawaii for vacation instead of our usual Disney cruise and they complained!! They love Disney and when we talked about booking another cruiseline they said "Please....no!"
Wog...we live out near Nashua North High School too!

Hi Jillie:

I know you cruise with a few other families who have kids the same ages as yours. Do you think if you cruised alone, just your own family, that the kids would still have as much fun? I mean, obviously they have more fun with their friends aboard, but I'm wondering if you think they'd find enough activities to keep them occupied if those friends weren't around...? We may be cruising with just the 5 of us, so that's why I'm asking.

Wog: We live at exit 4. Isn't it funny that when you describe where you live in Nashua, it's by the exit number?

Sammy

Sammy....i think that my girls have alot more fun because we cruise with several other families and, no, they probably would not enjoy it as much if they did not have their friends with them. the younger dd is more outgoing than the older one so younger dd would probably make friends but the older one would not....
I grew up off of exit 4....

It is so funny. I lived off Exit 4 near BG for a while and my grandparents lived there most of their lives. hehehe now I'm exit 6 baby.

Hey I live off Exit 4 in Raymond!!! ( the exit before the Wal mart Distribution Center) My 17 yr. old son, 13 yr. old nephew & 11 yr. old niece absolutely love Disney Cruise Line. this will be our 4th Disney Cruise with them. We feel comfortable on Disney with the teens because there are no casinos ( I've also heard that some of the other cruise lines have nude bathing decks..not a good environment for kids even if they're adult only) Disney Cruise Line Rules!!! Cathie & The Gang pirate: :grouphug:

Hi Cathie:

We take exit 4 to get to Country Woods furniture store! Love it up there! Also love to camp at Pawtuckaway State Park.

the Outlet exit..... or better yet, Gunstock....

Hi- Just moved to Manchester this past May, prior to that we lived in Raymond (exit 5) just down the street from the WalMart Distribution Center.

That is so cool that there are so many people from NH on these boards!

DH, DD2 and I will be on the 11/11/06 Western w/ Double Dip at CC.

This summer will mark 20 years for me living in Nashua. I'm married to a woman from Manchester.

I was born in Boston and lived nearby until I was 5. I lived in Rochester, NH until I graduated college. Now I live next to Boston again but still consider NH to be my home state.

Another Nashua-ite here! :wave2:

We are off Exit 4 too. At Christmas, you can see the lights on our house from afar! (Dh is light-crazy) I lived off exit 6 for 5 years previous and cuold see Dairy Queen from my house - not exact a good thing for the waist line! :flower: I grew up off Exit 5 (Main Dunstable Rd.) and my parents still live there.

Our minvan license plate is "DVC-BCV." Wave if you see us around town!

Also, we spend alot of time up near Henniker. My family used to own a place on Lake Massasecum - but we moved on up to Sunapee a few years ago. I miss the old "camp." :sad1: But at least the new one is year round & has more sleeping room. And, I can keep on eye out for Steven Tyler! ;)

I'll have to watch for the lights at Christmas time.

I live off exit 1 in good ol' Nashua. My family has been on 2 Disney cruises. My husband & I are going on our 3rd (4 night) next month, May15th. We haven't had a vacation without the kiddos since our honeymoon. 11 years ago. We are very excited. My children are a little put out. But we told them we would probably rebook on board for next year. My DMIL will spoil them rotten, so I'm not too worried that they will miss us. :)
