NH dad credited for busting child predator at Swan!

I just heard about this. The predator was checked in at the Swan hotel with intent to molest a child

This is so scary. I talk with my kids about this all the time. We have had predators follow school buses in our city. Three tips for helping children avoid being victims.
1. Adults NEVER need help from children. If someone asks you to help them or even calls for help - get an adult.
2. I tell my kids they are not responsible for keeping me or thier Dad safe. We are grown ups and we can defend ourselves. Some predators use the "I will hurt your mom, dad etc.. angle"
3. It's ok to be rude. Yell & Run away if you think you don't know someone. I tell them I can always apologize to the adult if it was a mistake. And that I will always take thier side.

Very disturbing... wonder if the predator was a registered guest at the resort? Not that him paying for a room would have prevented this - but my guess is that he was just loitering on property.

Being that we are checking into the Dolphin in 13 days, my first thought was "what is the hotel going to do to prevent something like this from happening again?" But the sad truth is that there is nothing they can do to prevent these types of thing - and likely they couldn't have prevented this instance. Thank goodness for families like this one that are aware of their surroundings and not afraid to say when something doesn't seem right. That's the only way to minimize these horrible incidents. It is a very good reminder of the fact that our children are not safe anywhere.

This is so disturbing. Not sure if you watched the video, but yes he was a registered guest and he did violate a child. He had a lifelong history.
The need to lock him up and throw away the key!!!

I feel so badly for the little girl that was attacked and for her family. Thank God for the Father and Son who were paying attention and noticed what was happening. I think this is definitely a wake up call for all us (parents) that we can't let our guards down anywhere - even in a place like WDW. The news article even pointed out that the predator chose that place because people feel so safe there.

I saw this on the news last night! The son and his Dad did a great thing, but the poor little girl was violated in some way. I think it was interesting that the little boy was the one (at least thats the way I heard it) that noticed the man's creepy behavior. Thank goodness he had the sense to point it out to his dad.

I wish that child molesters and predators wouldn't be released. I'm no psychological expert, but I don't believe they can be rehabilitated.

I am a therapist and I have a very hard time counseling this population, so I choose not to. They say most were violated as kids and learned this behavior but it doesn't matter to me, I have not been blessed to show unconditional positive regard for this very ill population.

You are 100% correct. The only treatment that has every been proven to work is castration and we don't allow that in our country because it is "cruel and unusual punishment". Personally, I'm all for it. No one seems to care about the cruel and unusual things that the person did to a child.

Has anyone seen any updates on this situation?? What did they find on the tapes/computer that they found at his home & hotel room?? Is the man out on bail??? I am leaving Tuesday and have a teenage girl that wants to spend some time at MK--just her and her best friend...I will be in the park but still am a little scared. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thank goodness for the Dad and son!! I hope that man won't see the light of day and he is in jail for the rest of his life. My heart goes out to that little girl's family.

When are the rights of normal people and victims going to come before predators? I just don't understand why they keep releasing child predators and all other types of predators. These people should be locked up for life!

I feel so bad for that innocent little girl, and it's awesome the dad and son were able to rescue her, but it never would have happened if that pervert hadn't been released.

I give credit to the NH Dad for doing the right thing, staying calm and calling the police. My husband probably would have gone and followed the man and then go all bruce lee on the man and then we would have been the ones to be arrested, . Anyway, it is so sad that this person has to invade the happiest place on earth, but I am so glad he got caught and I hope he rots in prison!!

Congrats to the dad and son! It's tremendous in this day and time that someone was willing to get involved and do the right thing. Also, that they were able to keep calm and collected. I probably would have done the Bruce Lee thing too & just flipped out. We need some stronger laws to keep those predators off the street. Maybe a one strike & you're out for them.

The whole thing is just disgusting. Makes you wonder how many times this guy may have done this before he got caught, considering his 40 year history. Glad the lowlife was nabbed and I agree...they should lock him up and throw away the key.

People think I'm super overprotective of my kids - I sit outside with them when they play, I have to know parents before I let my kids play at thier house and I don't let them ride the school bus. But this is why! It is so important to watch out for your kids. I agree lock the abusers up and throw way the key!

Thank goodness for the Dad and son. Predators are everywhere and especially where there are children. They are very "smart" and use many ways to lure a child. Isn't it too bad that parents can not let their guard down anywhere...not even Disney World. I hope they put him in jail and throw away the key!

I make them recite it while out in public- headed into a fair, or anything like that. I love the looks on parents faces when they hear what my kids say- but seeing as my kids get a kick out of it they will remember it too

Good and another thing they shouldn't just scream but they should yell at the tops of their lungs "you're not my daddy/mommy" that will get peoples attention more than just screaming, which could be mistaken as a misbehaving child.
