Giving Ray Rice a 2 game suspension for this. He is dragging his unconscious fiance from Elevator , after he got mad at her and knocked her out with one punch, The Hotel has that video also but wont release it. And the NFL suspends him for only 2 games but if you smoke pot, your out for the year

That has long been one of my chief complaints about the NFL. The whole culture is so messed up when it comes to the value of women... Abuse dogs, the hammer comes down. Carry a gun, use drugs, you face real punishment. Heck, even locker room hazing is taken more seriously than domestic violence and sexual assault.

It should be a legal matter only. IMO there should be no suspensions. If they end up in the cage then they can't work. But as long as they are out it should not affect their employment unless the employer wants to risk firing them.

I am completely disgusted by most sports personalities. I realize that they didn't sign up to be role models but by default, they are. They all have a HUGE opportunity to shape and mold the minds of the younger generation and instead of living up to their "larger than life personas" and really make a difference, they choose to live the life of the street punk that they didn't want to become.

Not sure it's the NFL at fault or the whole world view that domestic violence is no big deal. I personally think the hammer should have come down on him, but if the law doesn't do anything, is the NFL supposed to send him to jail?

I am not defending Ray Rice but there is more to this story than just that video at the casino. His fiancé admitted in court to spitting at him and hitting him and he hit back. Both were intoxicated. No excuse on either side. They are in counseling and Ray has a long hard road to gain any respect back.

The player that was suspended for a year for smoking pot ,Tanard Jackson, this was his fourth time being suspended for substance abuse dating back to 2009.

The policy was changed at the end of August.

Roger Goodell received well deserved blistering criticism for the Ray Rice decision, and as a result, has changed the policy to a 6-game suspension for the first incident, and at least a one-year suspension for a second offense. No criminal conviction is needed.

Given the fact that women are the fastest growing group of NFL fans, I think this will continue to be a significant issue.

That would depend on whether there is a morality clause in his contract. Most companies will term an employee whose personal life intrudes into work.

Living in Baltimore and being a huge Ravens fan, this is so disapointing. I can say Ray Rice was a Baltimore favorite(my 11yo DD's and one of mine), besides just seeming like he was a "decent" guy, he did a lot of bullying campaigns and fund raising. TBH I was giving him the benefit of the doubt.....BEFORE I saw the video this morning. I was thinking maybe she hit him, and he pushed her off and she fell, maybe because they were so "drunk" all this happened. But now, we will be giving away our jerseys and tshirts with him on it to the Goodwill. I know it's not much, but it makes me feel better about not supporting domestic violence. He just seemed so casual about it too, like it wsn't the first time. I know there are some saying he is going to counseling, etc, but I just can't excuse it. :sad1:

Not a football fan, but I happened to catch it in the break room. I was appalled! I just can't believe he knocked her out cold and them dragged her out of the elevator. I wouldn't hang around if I were her. They should penalize him much more severely.

He shows no remorse in that video. The way he carelessly drags her out of the elevator and just barely moves her...Sad. It's even sadder that she married him what? A month later?:headache:

This is what I don't think a lot of people realize. SHE STILL MARRIED HIM! :scared1::scared1::scared1::sad2::sad2::sad2:

It sounds like you are defending him though. Anytime there a "but" involved it comes of as excusing actions.

It was explained on our news this morning that Goodell hadn't seen this video when the two-week suspension was engaged. I think if he saw it, the penalty would have been much harsher. There is a difference in hearing, "he hit his girlfriend in an elevator" to what the video shows. It is jarringly violent.

The Ravens have released and terminated their contract with Ray Rice!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

The NFL is either lying back in July or now. There are some angry NFL reporters mad right now like Adam Shefter who were led to believe they saw the video. They were told they had the same stuff as law enforcement had.

Anyways the Ravens have released Rice
