NFL Draft this week!

who's your team golf? we still play a mary mother sister of the blind, sure we always willl show me one team that doesn't....this year, we have a rough away SEC schedule. We looked good at the orange and blue game though, setting up another Leak/Tebow deal with Brantley and our Venice star!

I try and follow all Gators, even the ones who have left the NFL....Dan and Chris D especially!! I really wanted Tebow to go to a team where he can actually have a chance to be "schooled" and not be fighting to play now. I am partial to the 92-97 Gators, but this senior class really touched us as well, more so than when I was in school and actually had classes with and knew the players.

POUNCEY!! YEAH - hate that you are a Steeler, but we'll deal.....

eta and yeah, it's LAKELAND people...come on!

My DF, who is a Steelers fan, just wanted him as a Steeler so she could get a jersey with POUNCEY on the back.

As for my Dolphins in the draft, trading down for Jared Odrick wasn't my first thought for which way they should go, but I think we all got caught looking at the glaring hole at NT and forgot that the entire DL wasn't very good last year and picked a guy who coujld play in multiple spots. Not a flashy pick, but solid. Plus it got us pick #40 for taking someone later that we could have taken at #12 but didn't. Since Miami traded away its own R2, that means essentially Brandon Marshall only cost us next year's R2.

Wonder if the Rams wish they had taken Suh #1 as they could have had Claussen or McCoy in Round 2?

IMO, McCoy was expected to still be there so they should have taken the DLine help in Rd one and hoped for McCoy in Rd 2.

I am late joining the thread as I was glued to the TV last night, but I wanted to jump in and say that I was thrilled that Tim Tebow went in the first round. As most of you know, I am a huge Tebow fan. To be honest, I had hoped that we would be able to get him since we lost Jake. (Well, our GM/owner sent Jake away.) However, I was happy that Tim went to Denver. They are a great team with a great coach. I am thrilled for him and look forward to following his career in the NFL!
I am excited to watch tonight. We will finally get time on the clock!

ETA: I also really enjoyed watching Gerald McCoy as he was called last night. It was one of those wow moments, seeing him tear up and knowing that he was living his dream. It was a great moment.
I am now hoping that my Panthers will get Colt McCoy, Brandon LaFell, and/or (:rolleyes1) Riley Cooper.

So thrilled for Haden, Pouncey, and TEBOW!!

I'm jumping in this thread...and way late, lol.

I am not a big college football fan...my husband is. But I really wanted to see where in the draft Eric Berry (U of TN) went. I *think* he is a safety, and they supposedly don't go high, but he was such a talent at Tennessee (and seems to be such a nice guy). Now that the first round is over, and he went 5th...my interest isn't there.

But it was fun watching it for the first round...

tonight we have plans but I'll be watching on my BB! I loved watching the guys really hug the commish and seeing them in their moment....each one was truly on top of the world and it was nice to see them surrounded by family and friends.

I would hope anyone who acheived a lifelong dream and became very, very rich in the process would be excited! :thumbsup2

I'm a Gator fan and a Tebow fan, yet I know he's not perfect and he may be a much better college QB than NFL QB...but only time, and a chance, will tell for sure.

Yes, he had some traits that some in the NFL don't like, but he is also a very dedicated study of the game and is willing to improve himself. Of all of the mediocre QB's that are already on teams in the league, I'm sure some team is willing to see if he can make it.
One of the news reports here in Denver last night said that with his athleticism, McDaniels may not even use him as a QB the first couple of years, that he has the ability to play other positions.

Although McDaniels is thrilled with his dedication and stated last night that some of the quirks that people said wouldn't work well in the NFL, he has already fixed. McDaniels is a huge fan of Tebow, gushing about him all week.

I am a Broncos fan by marriage. My husband is a life-long, born and raised in Colorado, orange and blue bleeding Broncos fan. I like Florida and have since Spurrier days. I have rooted for Tebow all along because he's such a GOOD GUY.
So, ladies and gentleman, it gives me great honor to type these words:
TIM TEBOW IS A DENVER BRONCO!!

Already looking for my tickets for Broncos v. Titans...hotel room is booked!

You a Browns fan now lillygator? :thumbsup2
Thank goodness for NFL Sunday Ticket!!!

:thumbsup2 will be watching them. DH is from Cleveland (Ashtabula) and below our stained glass UF Gator window next to our front door is a stained glass Chief Wahoo window!

I really wish Tebow had a good veteran QB to learn from....I don't think Denver offers that, but we'll see what happens in the future. I wonder if the Rams are secondguessing their pick.....

Congrats to Tebow I know a lot of you are excited for him but I just don't think he has what it takes to play QB in the NLF. We'll see. I think the Lions were winners in the first round getting Suh and then getting a fantastic RB in Jahvid Best. They could be 2 of the best players in the draft.

As for my Chargers I loved trading up to get Ryan Matthews he is a great RB.

Plus week 1 in Jacksonville will certainly now be a sellout since the Broncos come to Jacksonville for the opener (where they will promptly lose). :)

Yup, Jacksonville will promptly lose :lmao:
(Broncos season ticket holder for the past 20 years)

hoping to get tickets to the Jville Bronco game. We'll be in Gainesville the day before for the Gator game. Better make hotel reservations now! That will be our only shot seeing him in a uniform next season.

Lose how? Like all the last few times we've beaten the Broncos - often easily? :rolleyes1

No receiver, no QB, weak defense, first game playing in the Florida sun at 1 pm. No way. Maurice Jones-Drew will run all over them. :thumbsup2

Yup MJD is NASTY!

Who do you guys got lining up at QB this year?

Where are all those people who said Tebow wouldn't go in the first round? Out eating their humble pie, I suppose.

and all the people who said Claussen and McCoy would go in the first round. The first round was strange this year.
