Disney is sending out emails to passholders, asking them to submit videos and photos of their best WDW memories to a special website linked to in the email (one address per pass per email).

This is obviously going to be part of the next marketing campaign. They did similar things prior to the 50th of Disneyland.

And adds credibility to the talk I've heard of the next theme being based on nostalgia and memories.

Note: Disney filed a patent recently for "Let the Memories Begin"

So that's obviously going to be the theme.

I suppose Disney is asking AP holders that submit videos/photos to release any rights to them? Or will they compensate those who end up having their material used? I am not familiar with how they handled it before.

release rights - they used them to make photomosaic murals at disneyland.

This would go well with the 40th anniversary of WDW. A look back at past memories along with a look forward at creating new ones.

I got this e-mail and agree - it's something to do with next year's marketing - "Let the memories begin" is probably part of it...something like "Making Memories".

I love that song and that video! It used to be my daughter's favorite when she was a toddler - she used to sing and dance along! I'm in the process of uploading some photos from our years at Disney from when she was 2 1/2 to this past July for her graduation celebration. It will be interesting to see what they do with this!

I think I'll send in a ride-through video of EE with the Yeti working. What a great memory!!!!

And I've several of the nightmare pink castle cake - those will definately go!

Be Careful... It might give them ideas! :rotfl2:

Now that i've got the classic "Making memories" song stuck in my head, I'm trying to remember WHY I remember the song so well. I can't figure out if it was because of one of our old Disney cassette tapes we listened to in the car all the time, or if it was part of a show/pre-show at one point? Considering the theme, maybe the old Captain EO preshow? (Thinking Kodak, pre Lauper's "True Colors"?)

Anyone remember?

HAHAH, you're right, better keep that photo away!!!

I don't know that song other than the Disney Sing A Long Songs video (still have that one!).

THANK YOU WIKIPEDIA!!

It was the preshow for Magic Journey's. The PRE-original run Captain EO show in Epcot, and later moved to the Fantasyland Theater in the MK. (Where Mickey's Philharmagic is now)

Does anyone know how long we have to submit photos and videos? I'm heading out of town tomorrow and won't have internet access, so I have to wait until next week. On the site it says we can only submit once, but we can submit multiple pics and vids, just all at the same time.
