I have a trip booked at the dolphin for the 11-14 the weather is scaring me. Thunderstorms and rain EVERYDAY. Anyone else going then???? I am really sad this trip means so much to me please someone cheer me up. Anyone else looked at the weather whos going??? I have never been to Florida in the summer if it says thunderstorms or rain isnt it still likely to be sunny at times???

That is the weather forecast for virtually everyday in the summer. Don't worry.

In Florida, a 40 to 50 % chance of rain and thunderstorms is forecast everyday. Go enjoy yourself. Put umbrellas and panchos in locker and I bet you hardly use them. Rain usually is a short period of time and you can usually run into an attraction!

You would be surprised at how much you can get done in one of the parks while it is raining and everyone else is waiting for it to stop in a gift shop. Some of our favorite memories of WDW are in the rain!

Don't worry. You'll have a great trip!

I know what you mean about being depressed! We are going Sunday - Friday, and the hurricane reports don't look very good. I have been advised to bring some snacks and drinks, as well as card games or something to do in the room in case we are shut in. Hopefully, it will not affect inland too much, but I guess we have to be prepared! Get ready to be REALLY wet!

Go and don't worry about it. It is RARE (and last year was an execption) that the hurricane hits directly in central florida. The rain, happens regardless of hurricanes or not. Its a daily thing in the fl summer. -- some peole have even posted better weather when a hurricane is near. LEt us know. Go and have fun!!

You sound just like me! I am the biggest worrier and "weather watcher" whenever we have a trip planned. I drive my DH crazy! I'm going in August and I'm already starting to fret and stew about the kind of weather we'll have. When we went over Memorial Day weekend, every day had thunderstorms forecasted. It did rain for two or three of the days but the others were great days. Go and have fun! Take ponchos and remember if it does rain the parks are much less crowded! Have a great trip! :wave2:

I will be there that same time at POFQ. I am more worried about traveling there than I am about the weather while I am on site. It always rains but it does not hender our plans in the least!!! Put a poncho on and have Fun!!!

i'd take rain every day just to be in disney.. rain at home is no fun, but at disney who cares?? you're at disney!! woo hoo!!! :cool1:

I agree! One of our best trips it rained the whole time. The kids wore ponchos in the strollers and had mini lakes form between their legs. We still laugh about it today. The best park was that the parks were almost empty while it was raining. We barely waited long for anything. I figure rain is WDW is better than sun at home.

Three years ago it rained all day, every day. It was one of our best trips. The parks emptied out and we hopped on attraction after attraction. The best ponchos are the ones they sell at the camping department at Walmart. (99 cents) Very thin, which is good when it is so hot out. The Disney ones are very heavy.

Me too! :) We have planned this trip for 2 years, it's our "once in a lifetime" trip and our family first.

If nothing else, it will be interesting. :rotfl2:

The worse part is I'm preparing my 8 year old that their fishing excursion *MIGHT* be cancelled. He's not too happy with that at all but at least he's been warned.

We were there last week and it rained and rained everyday. Thunderstorm everyday.. but thank goodness it didn't rain all day long. I must say that we did ended up staying half of our time at the resort which that was fine, we were at WL and Poly, so we got to enjoy the resorts!

I'm starting to get nervous too...We leave Tuesday night for our trip....hope the weather isn't out of the norm...I can handle the storms every day..just not out of the ordinary.

P&PD for those of us traveling in the next few days!

Welcome to Florida! :teeth:

Hi! :wave2: We will get to WDW on Sunday; and are staying till Saturday. Let's stay optimistic and have fun!! This is our first family vacation and it's all we've talked about for the last 4 months, so I'm hoping we can get some good weather.

Don't Worry! I just got home yesterday, and it didn't rain once the whole week. Some Lighting at night, but not one rain drop.
