Next Week (anticipation is killing me)

Well, we're off on Tuesday for DL. I can't wait, we tell the kids on Sunday, they're going to freak when they find out. I feel like a big kid myself I'm so excited about our trip. The anticipation is killing me!!!

I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that it's going to be smokin' busy next week at the parks because of the Southern California spring break. Our spring break was in March, we're pulling the kids out of school to do DL. I have to admit I'm a little worried about the crowds but there's no point in worrying too much about it because it's really out of my control. I have to keep telling myself that, it's the control freak in me!

I've read up on fastpass, not sure if I truly understand it, but I'm going to do my darndest to figure it out.

So we will go, have fun and just deal with the crowds the best we can.

Congrats on keeping the secret for so long! We'll be there around the same time as you guys. I've been packing like crazy! Only a couple more loads of laundry and we're good to go.

I'm going to keep a laid back attitude this trip, since I know the crowds are going to be insane. I'm just going to take it slow (which we can do for a change, since we'll be there for 6 days ) and make sure everyone gets to do their top four things.

Well feel better knowing that next week will be much much better crowd wise than this week. Still busy but I don't think quite as insane!!!

Just a quick question because I am nosey, how come you are telling them Sunday instead of waiting till that day? Is it so they can get excited too or just because it's an Easter gift? I cannot even imagine how excited they are gonna be, but I know what you mean! I am often way more excited than the kids are!!!

I'm not an expert on fastpass but we go to Disneyland a lot. In case you don't know, you do not have to use your fastpass during the timeframe that is on your fastpass ticket. If it says 1:00-2:00 you can use it anytime after 1:00. That give you a little freedom. Pick up a fp first thing in the morning then go do some rides that have shorter lines. Save your fastpass ride for later when the park is busy. I (the Mom!) hold all the tickets and fastpasses so I don't have to worry about one of the kids losing something.

We're doing an easter treasure hunt with disney clues and they need to figure out what their surprise from mom and dad is. I talked about in my pre-trip report I started here:

We're also getting up at 3:00 in the morning on Tuesday morning to get to the airport so I figure it would be easier getting them up at that if they knew about it.
