Next Summer at HH at 7th month window -chances?

We're new to DVC and tried to get into HH this summer for a studio or 1BR and see that its full. So, for next summer at the 7th month window, is June still going to be impossible - whats harder to get - summer or Spring Break time? Thanks!

I own SSR and wanted to go to HH in July this year. So the 7mo out rule applied. Thought no way I would get it. No problem, I got it for 10 days. I do hear that it's getting tougher to get though!
Not sure which season is busier, but would go on a limb and say summer!!

There are only 21 studios and 1BR's at HH, so those tend to fill up quickly. You'd probably be lucky finding one for summer. We were quite surprised we were able to book a studio inside 7 months at Spring Break.

I booked Hilton Head in 2005 at the 7 month window. The reservations for June were tough. What did we do? We went the last week of May just before Memorial Day. We had no problem booking.

The advantage we have here in Illinois is school's close in mid-May.

Yes- school is the problem - schools here are talking about going year round/modified schedule -we'll see. In the meantime, I'll cross my fingers for next summer.

Actually, the year 'round school thing COULD work to your advantage. You will likely have weeks off that most schools won't. If you have time off in May BEFORE Memorial Day or any time in September, you will still have great weather at HH, but far lighter crowds. the only thing is that there will be a "few" things (like the Shelter Cove fireworks) that won't be happening.

If you want a 2BR, your chances will increase significantly.

We went the last week in Aug of 05. Called at 7mo and had no trouble. It's not June but my kids don't start school until Sept. So it worked out well for us. Good luck!
