Next price hike?

Some are speculating that with the pre-sales of SSR that that might be our next price hike. But no one really knows for sure at this point.

I'm hopefully assuming they let members know before a price hike so we can add on? :p

I would guess they would start selling SSR with and announce an anticipated price hike coming to help boost initial pre-hike sales.

I wonder if the price hike for SSR woudl also be for any add ons at BCV?
Or if they will offer deals liek they did for VB at BCV so they can finish it up and concnetrate on SSR? (wishful thinking here! LOL)

When they were selling BCV, didn't they sell them at $80 or $82 per point for a while, and then increase the price to $84? Or am I nuts? My guess is they'll start SSR out at $84, then maybe increase it if the slaes are brisk.

I'm wondering though how long before they are going to have to do soemthing to change the plan a little? Eventually buyers are going to get smart and figure out that they are paying more eprpoint for less number of years. I mean, we who bought in the 1990's have our contracts until 2042, and folks who are buying now are getting 10 years less on their contracts and paying more.

Ok, on a limb here:
I say $84/pt with MB of $5.00 (for a short while), to boost sales, then an increase to $89 with or without MB.
That is my guess, any others on the limb with me?..?

I predict that DVC will not increase prices at all.

I also predict that after some initial enthusiasm, sales will languish and building plans for SS will be scaled back as they were at Vero Beach.

Why? As James Carville said, "It's the ecomomy, stupid!"

I think the DVD is smarter than we are, while I don't have any idea what the price will be or the year ending date either, but we are at the end of this economic cycle. I believe that they will go forward because it takes a while to build these things and by the time they start selling the economy will be in full bloom again. And they will have the product in place to sell.

My opinion only. Rich

BCV sold at $80 per point, and then there was a price hike to $84 - I don't remember when though. A DVC rep (actually my guide) suggested that SS could be sold as high as $88/pt, but that could have been a BCV add-on ploy. In any case, I took the bait and added 100 pts at BCV!

There was a pre-sale special at BCV. I got points for $70 a point. Seems like a great deal now! Diana

We bought into the BCVs in March of 02 for $80 a point, BUT $10 was taken off and applied to the down payment, which brought it down to $70 per point. We had the option of a 7 day stay at the Poly, GF, etc if we opted to NOT use the $10 for the downpayment.

We had use of ALL our 02 points.
