Well, I'm excited about it. They still have Captain Jack Sparrow on board. Of course the first was the best, but its still a movie any Potc is going to want to see.

I think it looks like it will be fun. More like the first movie, not taking itself too seriously like they did in 2 and 3. Nothing wrong with that. Not all movies have to be life changing or historic in nature. A movie that is just plain mindless fun can be a good thing sometimes. Can't watch Inception every night.

Hmmm...for me the first movie was actually life changing.

This one looks interesting. It should be fun, if I can keep myself from spending too much time focusing on the already obvious and vast historical inaccuracies of the Blackbeard character. It's just a movie!

And why is my beloved Barbossa in something that resembles a uniform??? I'll assume this is all part of a very clever and nefarious plot to find the Fountain of Youth before Jack Sparrow. Yes, that must be it.

Nothing against either of them. But I consider that a plus. That story played out and would make this installment seem too repetitive.

I hadn't thought of it that way but you might be right. Penelope seems to fit in quite well and as long as Depp and Rush are in, it's got to be entertaining.

I agree, honestly Barbossa's character was one of the best part of the movies for me.

I think so far they have done a brilliant job of keeping the pirates seem to be outlaws, yet still not entirely evil...there's a kind of unpredictibilty about them which is good.

Perhaps playing off of the period when Henry Morgan was more an English privateer in the employ of the King/Governor of Jamaica than an actual pirate, per se.


Agree about the historical inaccuracies with Blackbeard, but then again, if I can look past zombies and undead pirates I suppose I can look past a historically inaccurate pirate as well.

McShane is awesome in everything. Him alone is a huge upgrade from Bloom who is as stiff as a board.

Kiera vs. Penelope for eye candy trade off is negligible.

I just wish they'd update the theme park ride to be a little more splash-mountain thrill-wise since the movies are action/adventure and what young fans probably expect.

No change to Pirates. WDW is not a thrill ride park. If you want thrills ride Splash. No bigger drops or anything needed on Pirates, that's not what the ride is about. There are already only a handful of things in the MK that people with motionsickness issues can ride, no need to ruin one of those.

Ugh...I'd hate to think the only actual pirate in the movies (Sparrow, IMO, is a marvelous opportunist, but a horrible excuse for a pirate) had turned himself over to the ranks of the lowly privateer. No respect for privateers at all. What kind of man turns over a cut of his hard-earned booty to the crown? Go pirate or go home!
