(I didn't see an official thread ~ feel free to merge if I missed it) :goodvibes

I think it could be a fun season with some of those personalities shown last night! I already know I'll be rooting for Jeffery. :thumbsup2

I felt kinda bad for the blonde that went home but seriously, green beans for Food Network execs? :sad2:

I also think the dietician really needs to get more into her cooking if she is going to have a shot.

Can't wait for next week!

DH and I wanted the Asian lady to go home soooo badly but we knew she wouldn't.

I like Jeffrey also! I thought green bean girl was the right choice but Debbie's executive decisions were horrid!:scared:

Oh, I know!! I couldn't believe she said she was in catering for 5 years and she couldn't handle the tasks any better than that.

And DD and I could have sworn we heard her say that the Dijon never made it back to the kitchen or she couldn't find it but then when the dietician asked her about it, she told her it was in one of the bags and to go look for it. Between that, the ridiculous cake fiasco and not being able to budget at the store, she came off very unprofessional, IMO.

Drat, I missed it. I'm off to go find a recap of the show. :magnify:

The good thing about food network: if you miss it new, they will replay it several times throughout the week!
I DVR'ed the show, but I can't wait to watch it!

I heard it too.:sad2:

I totally forgot this was starting again! But thankfull Food Network replays everything and I actually watched it at midnight!

I also heard Debbie (in the store) say she couldn't find the mustard. She seems dishonest and I wouldn't mind seeing her go soon.

After last night, I like Jeffrey the best, but it's too soon to tell what everyone's really like.

Did anyone else hear the star of Secret's of a Restaurant Chef (can't remember her name) saying how if Melissa kept acting a certain way it would drive her crazy? I have watched that chef's show and SHE drives ME crazy. She always grunting, groaning and growling. :scared1:

DS and I thought the same .. and we both think she'll go far.

I like the mom, not sure who DS liked based on last night's show.

I heard that as well, and I made the same comment to my DH. The restaurant chef makes me nuts!

I'm rooting for Melissa...and add me to the list of those who won't be disappointed when it's Debbie's time to go. She really showed an overall lack of character, and I'm glad the Food Network execs mentioned how important character is when they were speaking with her at the elimination.

:rotfl2: I know, I love her cooking style but the sounds she makes are just gross!:scared:

Agreed. I know who I don;t like (Debbie, Michael, and I don't love Melissa), but I'm unsure who I'm rooting for.

Who was the guy in the blue shirt last night?? The "leader" of the Green team?

They need to tell him to watch his attitude. I realize it's a kitchen and foodservice, but he kept calling all the girls "Sweetie" and "Beautiful." Ughhhhh it's 2009, not 1950. Watch your mouth, you're on TV now, the TV viewer doesn't care about the "industry" norms. (I'm in Foodservice, I get called Sweetie all the time, doesn't really bother me too much, but then again, my peers aren't the ones calling me it...)

You should be able to watch it several more times this week! They will probably show it before the new episode next Sunday.

I thought that the group this year has a much more cohesive plan than in the prior years. They all are right there with their culinary point of view. They also seem like they are a little more "cut throat" than in the prior years-- there to compete and not to make friends.

I agree with everyone, Debbie needs to go ASAP! She is a train wreck and making one good spicy mayo doesn't make you a food network chef when you lie and screw up. I don't have a favorite yet though.

That was Brett, he's from NYC. I know what you mean about him. He also said the men should leave the ladies alone so they could settle in and talk about lipstick.

 Ugh! Yeah, him.

I just wanted to slap him. Or have one of the women get a backbone and say, "don't call me sweetie." Again...know it happens all the time in the world of Foodservice, it's a male dominated industry, so Chefs especially take to calling females hon, sweetie, etc. But in this situation when you have "America" watching and you want your own show?? Wise up buddy. Turned me off to him in a heartbeat. I'd never watch his show.

Jamika I love. (And Jeffery, but he seems to have a fan club, so I'm starting a new one :snooty:)

I missed it....I'm off to find it to DVR and then after I watch it can't wait to come back and read the comments!

I really like Jamika's personality, she looks like such a nice person.:goodvibes Another one here who would like to slap Brett or whatever his name is.:headache:

Isn't the Brett also the one that made the disparaging comments about the kitchen facility for the challenge to Chef Guarnacelli (no way I spelled that right!)? That was a major idiot move!
