Next effective price increase - can't combine onboard booking and travel agent OBC?

But you have to realize that the rebating is the only differentiating factor (except service) from agency to agency. Its the tool that agencies use to be competitive. Exactly, they are saving money...aka increase cost to consumer.
You have to realize that rebating commission back to a client to pay them to cruise has always been between the travel agency and the consumer. DCL is quite aware of agencies doing that and have decided to reduce their costs by paying less on onboard bookings.

They will continue to pay those that produce a higher commission, though eventually it will drop I fully believe. DCL no longer needs agencies as the four ships sell themselves and as a public company, they are going to do whatever it takes to reduce costs. If an agency only competes on price, you are going to find many of them going out of business as they will no longer be able to offer such rich rebates for onboard bookings!

It may be possible that the agencies are trying to put together a plan before announcing this big of a change. I'm positive that DCL didn't give a lot of notice on this change.

There is no way agencies are colluding on a response. These are all independent businesses who make their own policies as to OBC, etc.

Has DU sent something to customers regarding the policy? It's November 4 and I have not gotten an email regarding how the policy is changing.
