Next DVC resort?

If ANY of the Crescent Lake resorts get a DVC with 50 years on the purchase I will buy it regardless of the trust, resale restrictions, dues, room breakdown, etc as long as I can walk (or scoot as I age 50 years) to two parks :rotfl:

I would even take a resort across Epcot Resorts Blvd like Swan Reserve
If BWV 2.0 happens i will sell my one of my resales (hopefully my wife's akv 🤣🤣)

Personally BWV is one of my favorites. But AKV has club level and value studios.

I know the saying - don’t buy because of those rooms. As I ALWAYS get those rooms (when needed) AKV is another favorite just because of that.

Value studios are great if you want to save points and just need that trip :-) club level room are great for us as we only wants 1 or 2 nights at the end of our trip or before we move offsite.

If I couldn’t get those rooms then AKV would just be used as SAP.

Good thing she isn’t on here to see this :rotfl2:
Hahaha right, I know it wouldnt happen but thats the one I would want to swap if given the choice 🤣

The thing with us is we would never (unless no other choice) stay in value studios. My wife will always want savannah.

I told her about club level, but when I said savannah wasnt guaranteed, she didnt care that there was a club level 😆 I think i just need her to experience it to change her mind and pray we get sv 🤣🤣

She pretty much let's me do everything else i want with dvc, i choose where we stay, the length and book every time so I try not to touch what i call her "fixed week golden animal kingdom savannah reservations" every other year 🤣🤣 But not complaining at all, i love akv too, I just feel we can stay there without owning, but I respect that we both get what we want 🤪

When we were purchasing i told her we dont need to own at akv to get the rooms type she wants, but she wasnt having it 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

She said i got my blt, I can choose the direct contract, and she doesnt understand why I bought SSR when we've never been there, but thats fine she just needs her akv, so here we are 🤣🤣

i do stalk here and there for deluxe studio club anyways and it seems all but impossible. I am happy tho that we do have the one bedroom club level option which is pretty available for us at 11 months, I want to experience it, and hopefully just beg them to give me sv to avoid trouble 🤣🤣

Not that you asked but I side with your wife on AKL. The entire point of the place is the Savannah and you’re worried about vip snacks and drinks that will never justify the premium paid.
I understand which is why I just let it be but I have FOMO lol perhaps ill just buy myself treats i wouldnt otherwise purchase and leave them in the room daily 🤣🤣 jk lol. We dont drink alcohol either so the value goes down even further

Are you just lucky to be able to always get them? I dont own AKV but I have seen many owners say its nearly impossible

It is its like booked out four days ahead of our 11 months often 🤣🤣

Granted i dont wake up at 8am et ever so I haven't tried as hard as I could, but seems like they're sold out days befOre u even get a chance.

I guess our waitlist chances are better than nonowners, but unless you're super aggressive every damn day second I dont see how its possible, always im curious too @Cyberc1978 how it can be done if you have any tips 🤣

Every now and then youll see a day or two available at the bleeding edge of the 11 month mark, you can pick up those days and then plan your trip around those days. Same applies to club level. I definitely would plan to not regularly stay in those rooms but treat it more as a we got lucky this time.

About 45% of the value studios are Savanna View. They're on ostrich trail. You can't request a Savanna View. But you can request NOT to be facing the parking lot. So this puts you down to Savanna or Pool. If you rule out the two parking lot view, it's then 50/50, Savanna or Pool.

If we land on pool, shes going to be pissed at me lol. My requests tend to be the opposite of what ive asked for 🤣

The only view i asked for that was granted was from Riviera out of 5 hotels.

Asked bwv for pool view, got bush. Interestingly enough, I asked bcv for an uninspiring view and vero beach (pool) and they both gave us better views than we asked for. Fireworks and ocean view. This kind of leads me to believe they dont really look at the requests

Save the money, book Savannah view or Standard View... then take the discount and buy a really great meal somewhere else...
I had a one bedroom concierge booked for april and I cancelled when I found out half wasnt sv im sure ill get to try it one year or maybe do a split stay sv and club

It depends on what you want. About six months a year, I work fully remote. The AKV value studios are perfect for seven to ten days. They have an actual table and regular chair (not all studios do--I'm looking at you Boulder Ridge). They have drawers for clothes, not just under the bed storage. (That's you, RIV.). Compared to some other resorts (CCV, GF), it's super quiet during the day. The one big drawback (aside from the bus only transportation) is that the showers here are the old style tub showers without a hand nozzle. Still, work nine-ish hours for the day and then chill out at the bar or pool.

All very useful information and what a points saver. The ability to take more trips is def a selling point. I suppose i could lie and say sv wasnt available at all 🤣🤣 but id feel bad 🤣🤣

For now…
We’ll see what happens with the refurbishment, but so far every property that has had a full refurb starting with Saratoga has gotten rid of the table and chairs. Not counting VGC since not much of anything was done there.
