I’m worried that if I book elsewhere, I’ll regret it, but not sure Poly is worth the crazy cost.

We love the location, convenience of monorail, and theming. We take midday breaks so location and convenience is very important.

We’ve stayed in WL once bc it was the least expensive deluxe. The bus service was awful and the boat to MK wasn’t much better. The rooms were small too.

We’ve stayed at GF, but that’s even more $$$. The contemporary is always a consideration bc of convenience, but I just don’t find it very appealing.

Any other Poly fans love another resort just as much??

The Poly is our favorite, but I just had my first stay at BWI in June and I loved everything about it! We do prefer the MK area over the Epcot area, but I must say that BWI did not disappoint. BWI was always on my list to try as I was always reading great things about it (especially CL, which we stayed) and I'm so glad I finally stayed there. We do like trying different resorts and while the Poly will always be our favorite, BWI runs a close second and I will definitely be staying there again :).

Not sure when you stayed at WL but last three times there the boat was quick and efficient as well as the buses. Can't compare room size to Poly as we have not stayed there but we get a studio at Boulder Ridge and find it plenty big, but we don't spend that much time in the room anyway... there are 4 of us, all adults.

Check out boardwalk and beach/yacht club ..the walkablity to two parks put them on equal footing to the MK resorts in our book.

I agree. We just stayed at the Poly for the first time this past May and fell in love. It was especially convenient as we have a toddler and spent most of our time in MK. However, we own at BCV and we love the fact that we can get to two parks without setting foot on a bus.

I agree with other PPs- try an Epcot area resort. We LOVE the Poly, especially when traveling with our kids. But when we're kid-free, BWI is my first choice hands down, and we loved Beach Club with our kids this summer. The pool at BC (or YC) is fantastic, and so is being able to walk to 2 parks. The Epcot resorts are also a little more reasonable than the MK resorts, and the rooms aren't quite as small as WL or AKL.

Beach Club. I loved our stay there and the Epcot resorts. We are doing BWV next trip.

We love Beach/Yacht better than the Poly! If you have park hoppers, nothing beats that walk into Epcot. You can go to any park in the day and finish off the night with a snack, dinner or just a cocktail in Epcot! :)

We LOVE the Poly, especially when we plan a commando, in the parks open-to-close type trip. However, we also LOVE BWI. In fact, my husband and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary at WDW in September...and, while we originally talked about staying at the Poly, we ended up booking at the BWI. It just seemed more right for this type of relaxing trip. One thing I really like about BWI is that with Epcot, BC/YC, and the Swan and Dolphin all easily walkable, there are so many good dining (and drinking :drinking:) options!

IMHO there is no next best thing to the Poly but that is me. I've stayed in just about every Disney resort. When funds permit we always go for the Poly. That's not to say all the other resorts don't rate. I do like the BC in the deluxe category and POFQ in the moderate but prefer the Poly over any Disney resort. Just got back from BC and already planning a Poly trip for next summer.

We are huge Poly fans too! As others have said beach club would be a great option! You still have the relaxed feeling and can walk to 2 of the parks!

I’d try YC. I like it better than BC because all rooms have a full balcony or patio. SAB is great. Love the lazy river area.

Buses and boats can be hit or miss, but it sounds like you didn't like the small rooms at WL anyway, so that eliminates a lot of options. We also love the Poly and GF, and if you're looking for a similar "feel," then I'd take a look at the Beach Club over in Epcot resorts. The vibe is open and airy with a beach feel. You can walk to both Epcot and HS. The pool is awesome, Beaches & Cream ice cream treats right there, walk to mini golf. Room size is not as large as Poly, but is larger than WL and AKL.

For me, there is no next best thing than the Poly... There is simply resorts I like better. I prefer WL and YC over the Poly. :goodvibes

P.S. I will admit though, I have never stayed there. Just my thoughts from visiting the resort and seeing the rooms of those I have known staying there.

It sounds like you really love the Poly and that it fits with how you like to vacation at WDW and other options may not hit that mark for you. Personally, I much prefer the Epcot resorts to the MK ones and would suggest The Yacht Club if you want to try something different.

We love Poly . Over many years we have stayed so many places and I think second choice would be BC for convenience and quality of resort however that will not save you that much money, Wilderness Lodge would be next but not as convenient esp when it comes to dining and transportation but it is beautiful and the castmembers there we found to be standouts. We also stayed at POR recently and I thought it was really pretty and you can take the boat to DS for dining. POR would save $$. Good luck!
