News this a.m. RE: LONG lines @airport security

So just how early do I need to arrive at Logan airport for an 8:17am flight to Orlando on a Monday morning ? I thought being there by 6 am would be early enough,but now i'm not sure! What do you travel vets think??

I had to same thought this morning!! Hopefully as people get back they can let us know how bad it really is. Man, I sure don't want to have to sit at the airport for 3 hrs.!!!

We flew out of Logan April School vacation. We arrived 1 1/2 hours ahead, used self-service check-in and made it through everything including security in an hour. Hope this helps.

Logan is the airport I'll be using so its the one I'm concerned about. This morning on the news they reported on how long lines will be this summer. One of the airports they showed had a line 1/2 mile long!!! They reported that this will be the norm at all major airports unless the gov't kicks in some $$$$ for the cost of added security. Seems to me,some of that $$$$ they're sending to rebuild other countries would be well spent right here in our own backyards!!!

I flew out of Logan yesterday. We fly from Denver to Boston pretty regularly. Use curbside check in for your baggage. They will give you your boarding passes and you can get right in line for security. You should have more than enough time if you get there by 6 am. Mondays are always a busy travel day but you should be fine.

Check your airlines web site or the airports web site for suggested times for arriving at the airport.

I fly all the time and the lines are pretty long at lots of them. I think the thing that makes it worse in the summer is all the new flyers that haven't experienced the TSA and check in lines. They approach security like a deer caught in the headlights.

We flew out of MCO President's week and were told that you needed to be at the airport 2 hours ahead of time.
