Not sure how it is working at WDW, but the way rope dropping worked at Disneyland is they would allow guests to walk through Main Street (most - if not all stores were normally closed) and then there was a rope that was positioned right before a visitor could start to split off in to all the different lands. It worked pretty good at Disneyland, but I'm not sure it would be very effective at most parks. Obviously it is not very fair to anyone who loves to line up early to be first in the park.

The old way at MK was Main Street opened an hour earlier than the rest of the park (DL used to be the same). People would shop, eat, etc. and then head into the lands. It was a lot nicer and more laid back then corralling people into a herd for that schmaltzy opening show they do now.

Epcot and AK aren't quite laid out with a staging area (Main Street, Hollywood Blvd) to make that practical.

Ever since they brought back the original Enchanted Tiki Room / Tropical Serenade, I don't completely put it past them bringing anything back. Of course, this would also be the only way they would get me to sit through the Country Bears show again.

Well, Lago's show was lost in a real-life fire.

Nothing can make me sit through Country Bears again.

Anyone know which date this begins? I can see in MVMCP starts on Nov 8, but does the Holiday Wishes begin before it?

Holiday Wishes runs only on nights of MVMCP, so it will start November 8th. For non-ticket showings, it will start the day after the last party - so December 19th you can see it for "free' (or at least without a hard-ticket event ticket).

More than once

Sadly...

What demographic are they appealing to with that show? I mean most kids won't recognize Michael Jackson and for the adults that do (who actually care), it has to seem so old and corny I would think.

They are catering to the "we are sick of seeing vacant pavilions at Epcot" demographic.

They have nothing to replace it with.

I love Captain EO! My first 3D film. They are appealing to kids who grew up in the 80s. Lol

ETA: Most kids know Michael Jackson. The ones who don't do not have cool parents. ;)
