For that project no one can complain they haven't considered the wide variety of vacationers given all the different types of accommodations that will be in this assuming it all actually gets built as laid out in the article. If people like the complex and come back they can envision it as a place that meets different needs for different vacations-from small groups to very large groups from wanting a hotel experience to more of a home VRBO style.

I'm not one for mega hotels/complexes but I'm not necessarily opposed to this as a concept. It will likely be beyond my price comfort but the concept itself is interesting having such different options.

What may be the iffy part is the attention meeting space aspect, clearly they are expecting this to be used for large enough businesses but the business world and travel is not exactly concrete at this time as many businesses have curbed their travel plans as a general policy, reduced their buildings in both numbers and space, etc. I know airports all over are worried business travel will be significantly reduced at least in the next few years. It's a lot of forward investment hoping by opening business travel picks up a lot.

that was the first thing that jumped out at me - just the variety of "vacationing groups" that can be accommodated ...

... but price point will be key - won't really help me if everything is $500/night or more

I mean, that looks like they are building a sub-division.

To each their own, to me, no thanks!

It's certainly not going to be available anytime soon, but depending on when we plan a trip I'd be interested in taking a look if it's available. It depends on types of rooms, amenities, prices, shuttle services, proximity to parks and DS, on-site restaurants, lounges, bars and shops, whether they attain the same friendly hotel status as other hotels in the area, etc. Quite frankly - we can do BYOB* for trips if need be.

If I read the report right, it is being developed where the current Villas at Grand Cypress is:

549774

Thats some fancy plexiglass. I honestly don’t mind that look. It’s not as tacky as the clear plexiglass on rides. Zip ties kind of show these aren’t permanent, which is nice. My trip was pre-plexiglass other than KS and in the indoor queues, but the rides seem like they’re fashioned in a way that would take a little more work than cutting the plastic zip ties off and carrying away the glass

Better not xnay the golf courses or else I will kick em in the shins! pirate:
Per the evermoreresort.com website: "While the Scottish links style ‘New Course’ will remain open for play throughout construction, a new 18-hole Nicklaus Design course will open with the resort and pay homage to the legacy of golf excellence at Grand Cypress."

I don’t know how somebody tosses this out into the world without providing any. I’m hoping somebody there sees this and takes a few for us.

Yeah, they did post one really bad/bluey one - but yeah.

If I was going to go off on this I'd hop right back in line to ride again and be prepared to take a ton of photos

So every other section puts people in "boxes" or am I looking at that wrong? I mean it's fine with me, the safer the better but I thought they were just putting up flat barriers between seat sections.
I'm wondering if it's this way on the monorail as people are sitting facing one another rather than all facing the same direction?

What does this mean??? :D

so in previous versions of Spaceship Earth when you did the decent part, rather than use the screens that are there now there were displays on the sides you would look at

When they switched to using the screens all they did was put up black material over those scenes to block the riders view (and I assume dismantled them some, but there definitely is still some "stuff" there

This post is saying that black material has come down at least in spots so you can see some of that "stuff"

Thanks! I barely remember the older version.

it's odd though as there are parts to each section that the barrier doesn't cover so you could still be facing another guest if people are sititng in those seats ... but I assume those would be more than 6 ft apart from each other so "ok" (though I question that since inside a moving but enclosed space for more than a few minutes)

I think this is more about fitting more than one small party on each side - so each seat section. As it says, before they would put no more than 2 groups in each section of a car, now they can fit up to 4 by splitting each side
