News Round Up 2020

Shocked and thankful on this reversal. Will be hard to enforce, but no need to suggest that mask wearing is a political issue (regardless of your view on effectiveness)
Welp, Another venue to take off the list. I will wear a mask to places I HAVE to go to: Grocery Stories, Home Depot. But, I will NOT wear them to optional locations. If a location requires it AND you decide to go there, you need to follow their rules.

Am I missing something? Free MagicBands are going away as of Jan 1, 2021 but, you can still use and purchase MagicBands from there forward, correct?

I'm not quite understanding why suddenly people think everything will need to be done on their phones?

From the Disney Parks article, 'Disney Resort hotel guests will continue to have the option to purchase new MagicBands at a discount, and we’ll be introducing even more colors and designs featuring favorite Disney characters in the future. Guests who prefer not to purchase a discounted MagicBand will be able to use the My Disney Experience app or a Key to the World card during their visit. We will still offer MagicBands in retail locations and on shopDisney.com, and guests will be able to continue using the wearables throughout Walt Disney World Resort. '

So yes, the 'free' MagicBands people get with their resort stay will no longer be available, but that's the only change for those who wish to use MagicBands they already have or, purchase new ones.

Yes but the assumption (which is not wrong) is that eventually magicbands will go away. Not in 2021 but likely in the coming years after. It will be a phased thing.

So. As someone who had a reservation in mid-June(that was cancelled by Disney because they weren’t open), but couldn’t make a new reservation because they stopped that, I have to wait until June 28 to make a new hotel reservation and then make a park reservation at the same time?

More and more places are adopting such. More and more states, and cities and counties are mandating it too.

This has been probably answered somewhere.

For Annual Passholders, was there a limit of park reservation days that can be made. Like how many park reservations can I hold at one time OR within a specific time period? (Like holding 8 within a 30 day time period).

It sounds like the reservation system is until a specific date in September 2021. Personally, I have at least 4 trips (if not more) planned from now until September 2021.

Also, I have still not seen my AP extended yet because of COVID-19. I am not sure how long it will take them to do this.

You can buy APs right now but not regular tickets.
So the policy has changed since May 31 when I experienced a technical issue in the final stage of my attempt to purchase an AP and was told by the online cast member that they were not available?

Nothing confirmed yet but the unofficial word is 2 days at a time without a resort reservation for APs.

This is what I want to know. I had a reservation in April and although I’m not happy about it, I’d be willing to rebook for the opening so I can know I’ll get into MK on day 1. Are they completely booked for those days? Im sure the wait to talk to someone is hours today.

Yes, but you can only buy tickets for 2021 on the 28th. Tickets for the remainder of 2020 will go on sale “later this summer” excluding APs of course.

The June 28 date is only to be able to make package reservations for 2021. If you're hoping to make a reservation for sometime this year you'll have to wait til "later this summer".

If this is true, they better be giving refunds, especially for platinum passes. This would be such a huge middle finger to AP holders it's not even funny.
