News Round Up 2020

What is "admission media" and who has been getting these emails? Curious because we have multiple resort reservations

park tickets or vouchers for park tickets (i have a passholder voucher attached to my account but we haven't activated it yet, but I got the e-mail saying I will have early access to the account, and I have a resort stay booked, albeit not until Sept 2021)

I put this on the Resorts board, but it is "news":
(Email I just received about my Swan reservation, 7/28-8/5)

We hope you are safe and well. Our records indicate you have an upcoming reservation at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. We are reaching you to provide some key updates on the Walt Disney World Resort theme park so you may determine if you still plan to visit.

We feel it is important to inform you that when the Walt Disney World theme parks reopen in mid-July, it will be at reduced capacities. At this point, we do not know what restrictions and capacity limitations will be put in place. New ticket sales are temporarily paused. Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make reservation requests in phases before new tickets are sold. You can find the latest updates on the theme parks here.

As for the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, we will be offering limited services initially, which will impact various amenities and restaurants typically available to guests.

We understand these changes may vary from your initial expectation when you made your reservation with us, therefore we are asking for you to re-confirm your intention to stay at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin by calling us at 800-227-1500 or e-mailing at reservations@swandolphin.com by Monday June 15th.

If we do not hear from you by 5pm Monday, June 15th, we will refund and cancel your reservation.

Right, but there have been emails going out stating that those with resort reservations (as long as they have admission media) will have earlier access to make a reservation.

Yes, but the qualifying factor is having admission media, not holding a resort reservation. I've seen too many people thinking that having a resort reservation will get them access to the reservation system, which isn't the case. The "golden ticket" is actually having a...ticket. Those with existing tickets will have priority

Perhaps. I have not seen where they told anyone with a ticket but no resort reservation that they had priority.

I have received such an email. I have a DVC reservation starting 7/12, and we have ticket media (tickets and AP voucher). If you go to the Covid thread on TPAS and the resort boards, you will find it all over. Some people are not getting the emails though. Just keep your eye open for info on the park reservation system, since you may not get an email about it.

The Disney Parks Blog, Disney's official blog, has stated that "Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make a theme park reservation before new tickets are sold". Nothing about a resort reservation.

First bullet point, if you're up for some reading: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2020/05/an-update-on-walt-disney-world-resort-reservations/

I got the email and I have nothing on my account. Our AP expired after our trip at the end of January. We also have no future reservations. We do have some photopass still on there, I guess. I think some have mistakenly gotten the email and some have mistakenly not gotten it.
