The politics of the stars are disappointing but gosh I am still so excited for this movie, I can't help it. I read this YA book (how topical) recently called The Magnolia Sword which was a Mulan retelling (not Disney affiliated) and it was so good it made me excited to see a Mulan from Disney that is closer to the source material, even though Mulan is already one of my favorites!
I think the sequel trilogy shows that Lucasfilm doesn't really have a plan when it comes to the movies anymore. Luckily the TV shows, comics and books the corporate big wigs seem to ignore, so the Lucasfilm story group can continue to do wonderful things there.I still have a feeling that Lucasflm has bigger plans to slowly introduce the Chiss to TV and movies. My wild theory is that more background on the Chiss Ascendancy will be part of Project Luminous, which may be why the new Thawn novel has been delayed. Once the groundwork for the Chiss is established we may see a post ep 9 plotline involving a full on Chiss invasion vs a New Republic/Alliance ??
There is no story group anymore and they weren't involved with the development of Mandalorian or Clone Wars.I think the sequel trilogy shows that Lucasfilm doesn't really have a plan when it comes to the movies anymore. If Thrawn never makes it to the big screen that would be fine,. He is a great character for the small screen or books. Because if he did, someone (Kathleen Kennedy) would insist on changing his character or the plot for some political statement or marketing reason and ruin the essence of that character. The character wouldn't be the same unless Timothy Zahn was deeply involved in the movie.
Surprised it wasn't the live action version of Aladdin.

Well that makes a lot of sense (based on how the movies turned out) .. but isn't there a group within Lucasfilm that ties everything together canon-wise? I mean someone made decisions to have books made that show what happens after Return of the Jedi, there were so many books/comic books that introduced Batuu ..There is no story group anymore and they weren't involved with the development of Mandalorian or Clone Wars.
There is so much sarcasm that could go here, but it would just get me in trouble. Instead I just prefer to think that the whiteboard with the grand plan somehow ended up in the bathroom with the out of order sign on it... Someday it will be found.Well that makes a lot of sense (based on how the movies turned out) .. but isn't there a group within Lucasfilm that ties everything together canon-wise? I guess I don't understand using this show only when it will be crowded.
It makes a hell of a lot more sense in December and February than in July and August though.I guess I don't understand using this show only when it will be crowded.
It's crowded in the parks, so let's make a bunch of people stand loosely around a courtyard to jam up some walking areas. I understand opening a ride (like Stitch) to help capacity .. but a short show that only runs a few times a day in an outdoor area?
