Wow .. Disney is opening the floodgates now .. they must have gotten a lot of us to buy vacations for January, February and March. They aren't just going to open these things just for the Christmas month are they?

Is Crystal Palace returning as a character meal since it is masked characters? I have dining reservations coming up and deciding which one of the few characters meals to target (as one of the Princess meals don't seem to be a possibility ... yet).

No, not a character meal and no longer a buffet. It will be a family style meal.

Well they have high bookings for the upcoming holidays. That’s mainly what’s driving this. I would be surprised if we see some locations only open for that and then close down again come January. Really depends on crowds.

It was years ago, but when we went to Disneyland Paris, they had several shows that were bilingual. The way they were "crafted" in both languages was very clever. One actor spoke French, the other responded in English (and vice versa). That way, even if you didn't understand the French line (or the English), you figured out what they had said based on the dialogue from the other actor.

I went to Disneyland Paris in Spring 2018, and that was the situation. In most cases, announcements and narratives included French and English. However, in a couple of attractions or events, other European languages were also heard (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German, if I remember well).

I think I'm going to be violently ill... This is the inevitable result of putting a merchandising guy in charge of the entire parks organization.

If 'shopping is magical, Well I think this year Disney is going to find that mana (the power that drives magic) is in short supply this year as at our house Christmas is cancelled except for zoom call with extended family. So no holiday spending spree with our extended family.

We have a fair number of high risk people in our family and shipping gifts is not a good idea as it's recommended to let packages stay outside for 36-48 hours and that's just too tempting a target for porch pirates.

On discussing this at work it seems many of my colleagues are also doing the same, essential trips and packages only and the commercial side of Christmas zeroed out.

Disney really needed more areas open to soak up the crowds and reduce the lines for people picking up mobile orders for QS. I think this should have a net positive affect on both of those issues.

Yep Dapper Day is this weekend.

Primarily a Disneyland event but has spilled to WDW in recent years.

If you want to buy gifts from terminated CMs, are you in the facebook group 'ear for each other'? It's a group full of former CMs who are promoting their side hustles to make money. There are some pretty quality things being posted on there.

Yeah I have received more packages this year than any other.

So have I and that's speaking as a 'road warrior' who spen(t)ds most of their time on an airplane, And during covid phase 1 I left packages to 'age' for a bit outside as Covid hates UV now that we are spiking again packages once again left outside.

But I imagine that the porch pirate problem will be a bit more severe around the holidays. Heck this week the porch pirates made off with a small but heavy box, I hope they enjoyed the 25 100' ethernet cables... I expect they will not be back anytime soon as they are looking for stuff which can be sold for quick cash. Yeah most of my packages are business related and never make it into my house.

One challenge I have found is I find stuff I like but then see it is only for pickup or local delivery, not to ship cross state boarders

Yes. I had the Dapper Day rate booked at GCH at DLR this week. It’s about half off and all you need to do to qualify is buy a ticket to the Dapper Days expo for each member of your party. One of the few group rates that’s genuinely and intentionally available to anyone.
