Wow .. Disney is opening the floodgates now .. they must have gotten a lot of us to buy vacations for January, February and March. They aren't just going to open these things just for the Christmas month are they?
No, not a character meal and no longer a buffet. It will be a family style meal.Wow .. Disney is opening the floodgates now .. they must have gotten a lot of us to buy vacations for January, February and March. They aren't just going to open these things just for the Christmas month are they?
Is Crystal Palace returning as a character meal since it is masked characters? I have dining reservations coming up and deciding which one of the few characters meals to target (as one of the Princess meals don't seem to be a possibility ... yet).
Well they have high bookings for the upcoming holidays. That’s mainly what’s driving this. I would be surprised if we see some locations only open for that and then close down again come January. Really depends on crowds.Wow .. Disney is opening the floodgates now .. they must have gotten a lot of us to buy vacations for January, February and March. It was years ago, but when we went to Disneyland Paris, they had several shows that were bilingual. The way they were "crafted" in both languages was very clever. One actor spoke French, the other responded in English (and vice versa). That way, even if you didn't understand the French line (or the English), you figured out what they had said based on the dialogue from the other actor.
first "storytelling through merchandise" .. now "shopping is magical"
I feel like Disney is getting less and less sublte
I think I'm going to be violently ill... This is the inevitable result of putting a merchandising guy in charge of the entire parks organization.
If 'shopping is magical, Well I think this year Disney is going to find that mana (the power that drives magic) is in short supply this year as at our house Christmas is cancelled except for zoom call with extended family. So no holiday spending spree with our extended family.
We have a fair number of high risk people in our family and shipping gifts is not a good idea as it's recommended to let packages stay outside for 36-48 hours and that's just too tempting a target for porch pirates.
On discussing this at work it seems many of my colleagues are also doing the same, essential trips and packages only and the commercial side of Christmas zeroed out.
probably not the place for this, but everything I have read is that they no longer think you need to keep packages outside as it doesn't survive long on surfaces (there was original thought about this but it has been updated - at least according to the CDC)
Obviously if you want to be extra precautious that makes sense ... but our plan is to do a lot of sending gifts through the mail and ordering directly from places to have them shipped (from terminated CMs if we find a gift that makes sense)

Must be Dapper Day. We were there for that last year and had no idea what it was as we were wondering why everyone was dressed up.At first was thinking CoH support, but some annual event I guess?
So many groups today. Fun.

Yeah I have received more packages this year than any other.
If you want to buy gifts from terminated CMs, are you in the facebook group 'ear for each other'? It's a group full of former CMs who are promoting their side hustles to make money. There are some pretty quality things being posted on there.
Looked there and this spreadsheet that another group is maintaining and the ones the DIS has been promoting
One challenge I have found is I find stuff I like but then see it is only for pickup or local delivery, not to ship cross state boarders
Yes. I had the Dapper Day rate booked at GCH at DLR this week. It’s about half off and all you need to do to qualify is buy a ticket to the Dapper Days expo for each member of your party. One of the few group rates that’s genuinely and intentionally available to anyone.Must be Dapper Day.
