News Round Up 2020

I have used the bypass many times around the fireworks in the past but actually just went down it last month - we did a photopass session and the photographers had us cut down it to the hub grass instead of navigate down Main St.

While it was "backstage" and not open the public at that point, it's still show ready.

I wish it was always open!
I was watching yulilin3's stream in the last week or so, and we went down the bypass during the time of cavalcades. She theorized it was open midday for distancing because it was closed by lunchtime, when the cavalcades take a break.

I think the bypasses at Disneyland are going to be open full time when Disneyland reopens. Ours are also always show ready as well. As they would open daily during the parade/fireworks time.

I won’t be making the mistake of doing only 1 day this time. Even though I got into the parks presentation and sat directly behind the DIS crew, the event just isn’t made for a 1 day visit
Last year was my first expo, I went all 3 days but only for part of the parks panel since I had to duck out to head to a funeral. One of my friends had a sorcerer's ticket and I am going to try for that this time since I now have a year to save money for it.

Did you ever ride Lightening Rod at Dollywood? AMAZING.
No never been on it. Have been on Maverick at Cedar Point which has a similar launch. Love the look of the trains and the fact there is no over the shoulder restraint.

We went on in 2016. It would go so fast they'd have to stop running it! It was closed a lot, so we were super lucky it was open when we were there

I've never experienced anything like it. I mean, we needed a nap after! 😀

Even though it’s certainly one of the best, Lightning Rod has been one of the least reliable coasters in the country, unfortunately. It’s actually undergoing a bit of a redesign right now that’ll hopefully solve the issues with it.

Yeah, that's why we felt so lucky we got on it! It was one wild ride for sure. Maybe not so safe though... ;)

He is a one man show at hotel and has a unique following. We saw him once and that was enough for us, but I can understand the following. My guess is he has a job as long as he wants it because he isn't as costly as a whole band, or whole show filled with people. He will just have to wait until they think it is safe to have a crowd at POR.

Yeah - my guess is they pay him very little as he makes a ton from tips and he brings drink revenue to a location much above his pay. In other words, I think he's safe. It's like Hoop-Dee-Doo, the revenue stream of charging $70 to watch six performers is crazy - Disney makes so much money on that show.
