Good News... perhaps a REAL CIO, as opposed to Susan O'Day.

1000%. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear more. Contrary to popular belief Disney’s fiscal year ends 10/3 (not 9/30), and this year is shot. Every last expense, severance, write off, whatever they can cram into FY20, they will. Whether they have $2bn in writeoffs and severance or $5bn really makes no difference at this point in terms of how Wall Street will react; everyone knows the numbers will be bad. It’s end of fiscal year time.

The Cleaner they can wipe the slate for the new fiscal on 10/4, the better for the senior management. This past year no one blames them for. This coming year counts.
An indoor sing along still seems a terrible idea to me? Feels like maybe they could have staged this in one of the park’s several outdoor theaters.
Especially one that will now be vacant...An indoor sing along still seems a terrible idea to me? Feels like maybe they could have staged this in one of the park’s several outdoor theaters.

Yeah, I am a bit surprised too - though I guess the BatB sing-along has been going on already so maybe they found that was fine?
I would think if mask complained is good and they properly distance people it will be fine but, yeah think there would have been better options for the first bug show to come back or, like you say, shift this to an outdoor theater
It's hard to not believe that this is just an acceleration of plans to strip as much entertainment as possible.
Its been happening for years already. I posted this in another thread. Here is all the entertainment they have cut the last 5 to 10 years. It's hard to not believe that this is just an acceleration of plans to strip as much entertainment as possible.

And some things like Lucky the Dino weren’t really long term entertainment anyways. That was an Imagineering test that was very short lived. Not something intended to be long term. Sort of like Jake the roaming droid in Disneyland. Some of those have been gone for a lot longer - Dreamfinder stopped being a walk-around character in 1998 for example
Also doesn't take into account when new entertainment came to replace what was removed
I do agree overall it had been reduced but I think you are only looking at one part of the equation
Either way they have cut more entertainment then adding to replace what was lost. The added entertainment is what makes Disney different. And some things like Lucky the Dino weren’t really long term entertainment anyways. That was an Imagineering test that was very short lived. You forgot all the star wars stuff from DHS when GE opened, with I don't think was replaced with anything elseIts been happening for years already. I posted this in another thread. Here is all the entertainment they have cut the last 5 to 10 years.

Depends on how you look at it. The sequel trilogy characters all moved to the land as walk around characters. You forgot all the star wars stuff from DHS when GE opened, with I don't think was replaced with anything else

Yeah, but they got rid of the walks and stage shows. Which, for the record, I think was a net improvement to the park. The walk was pretty cool, but not 15 times a day.Depends on how you look at it. The sequel trilogy characters all moved to the land as walk around characters.

They also added a fair number of dance parties, and a ton of characters in Dinoland.Oh for sure - and agree more has been cut than added (so net negative) but sometimes way more focus goes to the cuts as it is something known (and perhaps nostolgic) vs what is added or replaced it.
First thing that comes to mind is ally he cool holiday entertainment they added to Animal Kingdom last year - so it isn't like they don't think of and implement new entertainment either
and just hard to compare things now to normal times - hopefully over time they do being a lot of performers back (or alternative entertainment)
