News Round Up 2020

Hey there. We did something similar as we moved our May 2020 trip to May 2021. Since you had a package with tickets, they were only able to book you (like they did for me), a basic package without tickets until Wednesday of this week. I was able to reserve park passes today but only because I had other tickets attached. We can call on Wednesday and turn our basic package into one with tickets. Even though I made park reservations today, I also want a package with tickets to add more days since PH is not allowed yet. Hope this helps.

Thank you!!

I am not ready in the slightest to be a part of theme park crowds just yet, but all of these resort pictures have me itching to book a sudden trip. I get the feeling it's going to have the same effect for a lot of people, too.

BW really quiet as expected.

I can’t see it being closed — Boardwalk Villas and Beach Club Villas will have guests staying there. Disney would have to bus them all the way around to the front of Epcot, and that makes no sense at all.
That’s what I thought too. Another poster had a concern that when they made Epcot park reservations this afternoon, it said to go to the front of the park. I went into my account and all the parks say that just not Epcot.

Ok so last night I was able to speak with a CM regarding my AP which has expired while parks have been closed. I wanted to be able to make park reservations but am unable to renew AP. I do have some days left from old “non expiration tix” (Not enough to cover both trips planned) which CM told me to use to make some of my park reservations and then he told me that the current wait to speak to someone with ticketing would be very long so he gave me an “interaction“ number which is supposed to allow me to renew my AP And told me to call back today (seriously?!!) Or wait til I arrive in Sept and go to guest relations to renew my AP by which time I’m sure my dates will be gone...And then my new AP would cover my park reservations and I would still retain the days from the old non expiration tix.
anyway I just saw this paragraph when I was looking at one of the park reservations I was able to make:

“Separate theme park admission required. Guests must use the same admission ticket or pass for park entry that was used to make the Disney Park Pass. Park entry is subject to capacity closures and other restrictions. This Disney Park Pass does not hold monetary value and no refunds will be issued if it is not used. A Disney Park Pass does not guarantee park entry or access to any experience, attraction, or dining location.“

I would never have have used those non expiration tix to make the park reservations if I had known if I had known the new AP wouldn’t have covered them when the time came to enter the park!!!

Disney Vacation Club - Member Services is experiencing a system wide outage and they're no longer taking phone calls. If you call them, they hang up on you.

Edit: DVC Chat works. They can answer general questions, just can't access your reservation or anything.

Epcot got hit hard.

I'm a little surprised about Cinderella's Royal Table being closed, but I'm also not that surprised. The dining hall is really small, the stair case is even smaller, the bathroom is a closet and the food is definitely not worth the $75 without the princesses. No one is going to CRT for the food, so it would only lead to disappointment.

That is extremely disappointing. Now only those with loads of money to spare can afford to eat there. Lunch was expensive enough a la carte.
I know I'm a bit privileged to say this, but I'm okay with the change. I first went for dinner in early 2015, and the service and food was excellent. I've since gone back for both lunch and dinner in 2018 and 2019, and have been extremely disappointed both times. I think the dip in quality really started when they tried to push it to more of a quick-service/fast-casual restaurant. I think it's much better suited to be a "nice" restaurant, especially so since it's the only one in MK.
