I thought when the attendance figures came out they showed that international tourists are the same, that donestic attendance was down. Am i remembering that wrong?

I don't remember seeing actual numbers because disney does' release that but for the last quarter which was Q3 Iger did say International tourism was the same. Even if domestic attendance was down that doesn't mean APs are the reason its down.

Very true, at best it would be ticket price raises as a whole. I might be remembering speculation articles, i thought i remembered it from the attendance articles, but who knows.

This I find strange. And Chip and Co is the only place reporting it so far. Its not like you don't pay a premium for the cakes.

On the Keys to the Kingdom tour I went on yesterday, the CM said that they had not been told of any new nighttime parade coming to WDW. Paint the Night will not be coming anytime soon, so it is expected that the park will not have a parade in the evening for now at least.

History hasn't stopped Disney before. You'll also hear the common "Disney parks aren't museums". In my opinion though it's time to put MSEP to rest it's seen better days. Maybe keep one float or whatever but it's time for it to go.

With DLR getting a new version of Fantasmic next summer, have there been any rumors about that version coming to DHS?

No doubt it would be more expensive to produce, which would deter the Orlando execs from jumping on the bandwagon if they truly are seeing sagging attendance numbers.

I really hope that dosn't happen as I feel the MSEP floats should be saved(at least the main/popular ones) as I feel that MSEP is apart of Disney Parks history.

I'm fine with the parade going away, but I agree, it would be nice if they saved at least the float that has the name of the parade:

Yes there are rumors of DHS possible getting fantasmic upgrades but that's not a guarantee at this point.

I don't get this "Let's at least save a float or two". These floats are NOT the original floats from 1975 - they've been changed out over the years. And again, If you've seen Paint The Night in person - I don't understand how you could want Main Street Electric Parade to stick around in any form. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I think sending off MSEP means that sooner or later we'll get an updated night parade. It might take two years - but they'll do it. (There going to get a TON of complaints I am sure.)

BTW - if you don't like that there is no night parade - call and complain. Even if you don't have a trip planned - call and complain - and tell them that you aren't coming back until they replace the parade. Complaining on a message board doesn't do any good. If enough people file complaints, they'll hear it.

I'll be calling today. I was thinking about calling yesterday, but didn't know if that would be an effective way of telling them just how disappointed I am that they will not have a nighttime parade. Thanks for the advice!

The best way is with your money really - cancel a trip. However, barring that - the only other option is a complaint. Again, if they get enough complaints about it, it could have an affect.

Remember a few years back they dropped Fantasmic! down to once or twice a week during the off season. That went on for about 18 months, but eventually they brought it back to full time. Don't think they did that just because they decided to increase the budget. I'm sure it was a response to (a) complaints and (b) attendance.

Email the VP of MK, and Pres. Of WDW too. That will help get your point across.
