News Round Up 2016

Star Wars fireworks are also only currently scheduled until September 5th, and it was only very recently extended until then. It's really frustrating trying to plan a trip for September 10-18 with no nighttime stuff announced for two parks yet, especially with FP+ opening up tomorrow.

OP, Tues., Sept. 13th is one of the nights scheduled for a DVC Safari Spectacular event.
The event starts @ 9:30,
but Party guests will be allowed to enter as early as 7 pm.

ALSO, a Diser's recent ' tidbits ' trip report mentions that someone in the know said that ROL is not anywhere near ready to debut. Of course it's technically a rumor.
I have heard elsewhere on the Dis that ROL might not debut until 2017!

Sounds like you will get to see the DHS Star Wars fireworks, @ least.

There are also people in the know saying ROL could be ready for September. All rumors at this point. There would have to be a serious design or construction flaw for it not to open until 2017.

Forgot. Disney's website does NOT list ROL, or EVEN the Jungle Book show as part of the DVC Safari Spectacular events, scheduled for Sept.
The 1st exclusive AK nighttime event is scheduled for Sept. 6th, a day after the apparent last night of the JB show,
on Sept. 5th.

IF they planned on opening ROL, WHY would they exclude it from the DVC AK Parties?!
IF they planned on continuing the JB show for the month of Sept.,
WHY EXCLUDE it from the exclusive Parties?!

I recently heard that some RoL problems were fixed but some problems still remain.

Jungle Book likely won't be going into 2017 as the barges will need to be sent back to DL for Fantasmic.

Apparently this new tech on the un-manned floats is problematic. I have heard Disney really wants RoL started because Jungle Book has such negative reviews.

News/Rumor

Star Wars attractions will have very long queues and a pre-show. Both will also have high capacity but not quite as high as an omnimover does.

The Battle attraction will also use AGVs (Autonomous Guided Vehicles) similar to something like Ratatouille or Mystic Manor.

DHS's should be too different but it will be a little bit because of the configuration.

If it looks close to that concept art it's going to look amazing.

Do you or anyone else have any photos of the configuration at DL an DW? The areas to be used at each park?

By the looks of the concept art we got of that attraction, it does look like they're using track-less vehicles. Hopefully they'll use lots of animatronics and real sets to differentiate it from Universal's similar rides.

I wish they'd dump the deal with champion...

The run Disney stuff is way too high priced for that look/quality...

It's only a matter of time till UA rules the world

For a minute, I thought you meant United Artists:rotfl2: I have been listening to my Walt Disney biography for too long apparently.

I was almost a Nike only from 1985-2010 (tried new balance but didn't like...had a pair of sauconys or two that I liked)

...but once you go Brooks...you never go back

And nikes are really ugly these days...too much into their own hype. I don't want a "basketball take" on a running shoe...or a baseball cleat...and that's pretty much All they do now.

Different strokes for different folks

DH and my step-dad love Brooks. They are both runners.

I have never seen an Illuminations t-shirt. It's cool.

I really bet they will be able to completely disguise the Star Wars land from the Liberty Belle. They will have to have some pretty thick foliage, but I bet it's going to happen that way.

I wouldn't mind being able to see it from the water. However, Walt would roll over in his grave:rolleyes:

At some point...they're gonna have to use some type of ride system designed by S. I. Newton, John Miller, and Ron Toomer for a Star Wars ride...

Maybe "phase 2" after they stop trying to cater to 4 year old Jimmy and 72 year old Nana...ALL the time...

I will have to search for the map someone made of DHS, but if you search Disneyland Aerial images you should find some recent good ones that show just how much space that is taking up there.

Track-less is almost a guarantee at this point, every single source I know of says thats what they are. The falcon ride will have a track though. I can't see them using all AAs and sets. I am thinking along the lines of Shanghai's pirates, some screens, some sets.

I really should give brooks a try.

I already purchased the Illuminations shirt :)
