News Round Up 2016

Really? A lot of people like popcorn so why shouldn't there be an option to refill. I don't see this as a nickel and dime tactic. It's not soda where they could do free refills.

I thought Goofy2015 was saying this is NOT a "nickle and dime" tactic - which makes it "shocking."

Oh no, I don't see it as a nickel and dime tactic. I am surprised that Disney would let this happen.

Big happenings for Disneyland Paris's 25th anniversary next year. A new parade including the Maleficent float copy from MK, new Disney Dreams 25 years of dreams spectacular, new castle show, new kiss goodnight, and of course lots of decor.

That's great! Disneyland Paris does need a new parade. Hopefully they'll announce a new ride for either DL or Walt Disney Studios. They could use something new.

It's just the opposite. At $1.50 a refill, that's $1.50 they will be getting people from people multiple times through the day, whereas they wouldn't necessarily buy multiple popcorns in the old system. Disney would never do this if they didn't project a greater profit overall.

Btw, at $1.50 a refill instead of...free, I have zero interest in lugging around yet another thing.

Also of note - that's just for one day according to the article. That means if you're there multiple days and REALLY love popcorn, you have to buy a new bucket each day for those refills. I'd also assume that you can't buy a bucket in Epcot and park hop with it over to MK... but that's just an assumption on my part and you know what they say about that! :)

Totally agree, Alice is a total flop. But that was expected. Pete's Dragon may have a questionable audience response. The Finest Hours was meh. But I mean Zootopia and The Jungle Book way exceeded expectations. I think Finding Dory may do the same and it had higher expectations then the others mentioned.

Yep - Alice flopped - but once Dory crosses it, Disney will have FIVE box office movies that did more than $300 Million Domestic (Force Awakens made more than $300 million after Jan 1st - plus Zootopia, Jungle Book, Captain America & Dory), and all have made near more than $1 billion international. Good chance they have 1-3 more. (Don't forget Dr. Strange and Moana are still to come as is Rogue 1.)

I don't understand how this wasn't confirmed before since he is in movie posters but I guess the confirmation is nice.

Vader has not been on any official Rogue 1 movie posters yet.

His image was on a leaked book cover last month but that was it.

WDWNT is reporting that the first Moderate DVC is a go.

http://wdwnt.com/blog/2016/06/rumor...st-moderate-resort-villas-at-caribbean-beach/

I've been seeing this rumor for a few years now but WDWNT seems to think it's now confirmed. However, it doesn't state any sources.

This is an interesting rumor. It HAS been around for a few years as the next location after WLV 2.0, along with Yacht Club as the other rumored location.

It is unlikely to be a "moderate" DVC though. It would be very very risky for Disney to build a "budget" DVC resort because it would downgrade the value of the points. Disney would have a hard time charging the ridiculous price point they are charging at a moderate location. Likely it would be an independent resort similar to SSR or OKW - I can't imagine sharing facilities with CBR. They still would have to have it be a lower point per night property just because of that location.

The other interesting bit about this is that previous rumors were they would build it on the OTHER side of CBR, which essentially abuts to the back of Epcot, and build a special back entrance from the resort into Epcot - allowing them to continue charging premium prices. This is definitely a new version of the CBR rumor.

He wasn't on a poster, but a while back Disney made a statement that Vader would be in the movie. (And anyone with the least bit of knowledge about Star Wars and marketing could have guessed that a movie that was set immediately before the events of New Hope would have Darth Vader in it. At least I assumed he would be in it from the moment the movie was announced. The only reason Princess Leia doesn't show up is they are probably nervous about having characters with replacement actors until the young Han Solo movie arrives.)

While I'll agree with the first statement, I also agree in this case it's not too reactive. These beaches are unnecessary other than being aesthetically pleasing as part of the theme of the resort. The Resorts have a pool area for families to go to for recreation. It's an incident that should have never been allowed to happen in the first place, and they certainly can't allow it to happen again. They need to discourage people from feeding the gators in the bungalows, and you KNOW that just putting up signs saying don't do it won't stop people.

What's over-reactive is taking the crocodile out of the parade.

This.

Rumors I've seen say they will build a canal and have boat transportation from the DVC portion of the resort to Epcot.
