I'm surprised they were testing the ride since the creature looks unfinished. His chest is entirely open with some mechanism sticking out of it. I'm assuming he is supposed to lunge or attack the boat but was stuck in a maintenance position at the time of the video. I hope this creature isn't the Yeti all over again.

I am not sure we should assume there is a Yeti-like issue when this has come up before the park is actually open to the public.

Our daughter is 13 and is telling us "Disney is boring". We are finally doing a Universal trip next year, and I'm guessing we will see the same response.

Same thing happened to me as a teenager. I thought Disney was for kids and I was too cool for it. We went to Universal when I was 15 and I liked it a lot more, though I still preferred straight coaster parks like Six Flags and Cedar Point. Didn't go back to Disney until I graduated college and I was hooked. Have been back multiple times each year, and have an AP now. Even going to Disneyland this August. They'll come around.

If Disney tries to replace PTN with MSEP, I expect Disneyland to go up in flames from anger.

It's going to be very hard for DLR to "sell" MSEP after PTN. It would be like trying to get guests excited about replacing Midway Mania with Buzz Astro Blasters (no offense intended to Buzz).
Maybe Disney is just saying that to keep the crazy crowds coming to DLR and will "change their minds" before it happens.

Yes - I know what they *will* do. But it doesn't mean I'm buying it.
On the bright side...maybe the crowds will begin to let up a titch at some point!

If they really think DL guests will exchange the nostalgia factor for a downgraded old parade, they are in for a surprise. DL wanted MSEP before because they had not met PTN yet. Now, I really doubt the general reaction to be positive.

Just face it, MSEP is ready to retire for good.
